Handle broke where attached by screw
Two screws had to be removed. One exposed with microwave door open. The other screw is hidden behind a plastic band around the perimeter of the door. Using a thin bladed knife I pried out the band all around the entire door. It comes out easily. This exposes the second screw to be removed. Then replace the door handle with both screws and press plastic band into place.

Handle broke after 5 yrs of normal use.
1. I removed the top handle screw on the inside of the door (visible)
2. I removed the plastic seal from around the glass window on the inside of the door (pried out with screw driver; comes out easily)
3. I removed the lower handle screw on the inside of the door (hidden under the plastic seal)
4. Replaced the handle and screws
5. Re-installed the plastic seal
6. Door works like new.
I wasn't thrilled with the $65 cost (although PartSelect had the best price) but the ease of installation made me wish I had done it years ago. The buyer experience was OUTSTANDING. No problems. Rapid delivery.

Door handle broke at lower screw.
First I used a flat screwdriver to ply loose the gasket inside the door that holds the glass in place - just the half nearest the handle. You don't need to fully remove the gasket (this would let the glass fall out), just enough to expose the lower screw holding the handle. I removed both screws (Phillips head) holding the old handle and removed it. I replaced it with the new handle and attached the screws on the inside. Hand tighten until there is no movement of the handle. The gasket can be pushed and will snap into place.

The bottom of the handle broke away from the door.
I removed the top screw which is visible, and then by removing the plastic trim around the outer edge of the glass with a knife blade, I exposed the lower screw and removed it. I then replaced the broken handle with the new one and screwed it to the door. I then just as easily snapped the trim back in place.

The door handle broke and required replacement.
The handle is attached with two screws. The top screw is located on the inside of the door and is visible and unobstructed. The bottom screw however, is not visible, but is almost directly below the top screw. It is located behind a 1/2 inch wide plastic retainer that runs around the inside of the door. Simply pry the retainer from the inside of the door enough to access the screw. This would be the lower left corner of the retainer when looking at it from the inside of the door. I used a kitchen knife to pry the retainer loose and a phillips screw driver to remove the screws. The process is simple and takes about five minutes.

Handle broke away from door
On inside of door removed the exposed screw for the handle. Gently lifted the gasket to expose the other screw.On outside of door removed the attached broken pieces by unscrewing the screws from inside of door. Positioned the handle.Tightened the screws and resecured the gasket. and Done!!!

The bottom part of the door handle was broken
I just followed the instructions that the other people had left and it was just as easy as they said it would be. Gotta agree with one guy, the handle was a little high on the price, but this has usually been the case with GE appliances!

Door handle broke
Removed a screw that was visible and used a knife to remove a plastic seal/trim from the inside of the door and around the glass of the door, just enough to expose 2nd screw, replace handle, and replace seal back. Lest than 5 minutes.

Door handle broke
Pry out plastic flange on inside of door...exposing to two screws (top of handle/bottom of handle) that attached plastic handle to oven door.
Removed the two screws and discarded broken handle..
Placed new handle on outside of door and replaced the two screws that secure handle to door.
Snapped inside flange cover in place...
Repair completed...
15 minutes...

Broken microwave handle
I followed the instructions used by others about removing only a portion of the gasket - just enough to reveal the screws to remove. Five minutes later, I am finished.

After 12 years my handle cracked upon opening microwave.
I unscrewed the top inside screw, pried the inner plate off with a butter knife revealing the bottom screw. Replaced handle, screws and plate. It was so easy for me because I read about it on your website. Otherwise, I had no clue!

Replace door handle
THere are two screws holding the door handle. One is easliy accessed, the other is hidden.
There is a plastice seal that needs to be removed from inside the door. Its about 1/3 of an inch wide and is on the inside of the door surrounding the glass. It is NOT on the jam but on the inside surface of the door itself. You need thin tool to begin to pry out the seal. Once the first section is loose the rest comes out easily.
The hidden screw is easily accessible once the seal is out.
Simply pop back in when done.

Microwave handle snapped!
Imagine the surprise on my daughter's face when she went to open the microwave and the handle broke in half! I called multiple places locally, and ten days was the soonest I could find the part. Replace the door handle
Opened the microwave and locate the two screws that holds the door handle in place, unscrew the old handle then place the new handle make sure the orientation of the new handle is right.

The handle broke off the door of the microwave
Removed the broken handle and replaced it with absolutely no problem. We thank you so much for having the part as we were sure we would have to buy a replacement microwave. This microwave was put into custom cabinetry so it was so great to be able to just purchase the handle!!!!!!!!
