Product Description

Haliant Element - 12 Inch Specifications

This is a replacement haliant element for your cooktop or range. It is used with flat top ranges, and is found under the glass top of the range. This element is approximately 12 inches in diameter and is sold individually. The haliant surface element supplies the heat needed to the top of the cooktop. If your burner is not lighting up when it is turned on, you may have an issue with the haliant surface element. Be sure to disconnect power to the range before you begin this repair. To replace the element, remove the screws holding the cooktop in place, then remove it. Then, remove the screws holding the burner in place, disconnect the wires and replace the burner. Replace the cooktop and screw it back in to complete the repair.

Large right burner would only light in the outside and would not stay on
Ordered the part. Received the box damaged and did not realize the part was damaged until our son came all the way from Columbus Ohio to install it. We ordered another part which came in a timely manner. Even though I reported the problem and told them that we are not very computer literate they still would not accept that the part was damaged until we sent a picture. Our son came back from Columbus to install the new part which took about an hour. He took pictures which I was then able to send. They then asked for a serial number. I had already sent all the numbers from the part but that is when they said they wanted the serial number from the stove. We are elderly and getting that required me getting on my hands and knees to get it near the floor. Luckily I was able to get up. After multiple emails I now have to send the part back. Good luck to anyone working with this company. I will be waiting for them to reimburse me for the defective part.

Baking element and dual stovetop burner were fried
Baking element:First, turn off your breaker so you don't get injured. Using a small nut driver, remove the two screws that hold the element into the back of the oven. Once the screws are out, the element slides out, toward the oven opening. Be careful not to pull too hard, or the wires could disconnect from the back and be difficult to retrieve. Once the wires are exposed, disconnect them from the terminals. Attach them back to the new element, and put it back in. EASY For the stovetop, this is a glass top, so the burners are underneath. There are two small screws on the underside of the stove top, where the oven door closes. Remove those screws and then lift the front of the entire stove top. It will hinge at the back. There are two screws and little metal brackets that hold the burner in place. Remove those screws and brackets, disconnect the wires, and be sure to remember which wire goes where. Reattach the wires and screw the brackets back into the burner. Refasten the stovetop and you are good to go.

Two large burners (#57, 58) got out order. When turned on but the internal small burn at the center does not heat up. Very likely, the wire is broken. Can i just order the burners? What is the price for each? Thanks, huarong li
For model number JP80DM2BB
PartSelect logo
Hi Huarong, Thank you for your inquiry. If the center burner is not heating up, you will need to check the switch that turns it on or the element, the wiring between the switch element and element itself with a multimeter. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

On my stove part 57 and 58 burners when turned on only outer circle heats up not the center if part is bought and replaced will it work again?
For model number JB850SF4SS
PartSelect logo
Hi Ulises, Thank you for the question. The issue would be with the Element or the switch that controls the element. I suggest testing both parts with a Multi Meter to determine the defective part. Hope this helps!

A follow up to my last question: How do you test the heating element to determine if it has failed? The element is an expensinve part and want to be sure i need to replace it.
For model number GE JB655SKSS
PartSelect logo
Hello Michael and thanks for writing. Take the elements out of the stove, it's time to check them. Set your multimeter to resistance times one and touch the probes to the wire terminals. This should give you an even reading. Now place one probe on the wire terminal and the other on the element. The needle should not move. If there is no continuity or if the needle moves with these tests, you will need to replace your heating element as this means there is a malfunction. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime.
