Product Description

Triple Haliant Element - 12 Inch Specifications

This is a replacement haliant element for your cooktop or range. It is used with flat top ranges, and is found under the glass top of the range. This element is approximately 12 inches in diameter and is sold individually. The haliant surface element supplies the heat needed to the top of the cooktop. If your burner is not lighting up when it is turned on, you may have an issue with the haliant surface element. Be sure to disconnect power to the range before you begin this repair. To replace the element, remove the screws holding the cooktop in place, then remove it. Remove the screws holding the burner in place, disconnect the wires and replace the burner. Replace the cooktop and screw it back in to complete your repair.

One of the heating elements wasn’t working.
I just watched the video that was on the website. It showed in detail how to replace the heating element. After watching it I was able to remove the cooktop, replace the heating element and put it all back together. The only issue I had was getting the cooktop loose but once I did everything else was easy.

Loss of the two center burners
Removed the two sheet metal screws securing the range top after disconnecting the power. Removed the mounting clips to the old range element and installed the new one. It was an easy fix.

My large burner on my glass top range quit working
First I found a u-tube video on how to repair this. I found the model number of my stove and used my phone to take a picture of it. I found the part on part select.com and ordered it. It came within a few days.
Turn off electricity to the stove. There were two screws to loosen and allow me to lift the glass stove top. It did not come off and we made a stick to hold it open. Then we unplugged and removed the old burner paying attention what was plug in where, maybe 4 plug ins. Then we clipped it back in, closed the top, rescrewed the top on. Turned on the electricity. It took 10 minutes to replace. Very easy!

Center Burner of a triple element wasn't working
Been procrastinating putting in the new element but decided to do it yesterday even if it meant eating breakfast out. Twenty minutes after starting , breakfast was cooking, at home on the new element. Two screws out, switch wires, snap on retainers, replace two screws and you're done!

I have a GE profile model PS978ST1SS. The smaller center element of the front right burner does not work. The other two elements on that burner work just fine. Before I call a service tech, do you have any idea on what the problem might be?

The smallest element of the 3 element burner does not work. Previous comments say to check the switch and the elements. I checked the 3 elements and do not find an open circuit. Where is the switch i should check other than in the control panel?
For model number PS978ST1SS

Hi Bill, Thank you for your inquiry. There are no switches listed under you model number. You will need to check the touchpad and the electronic control board to see which one is causing the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
