Replacement of Door Handle
Gently remove the interior trim with a putty knife. Remove the two screws holding the old handle in place. Replace the new door handle. Screw the new handle in place. Align the trim and snap it back in place. Confirm the door handle is secure. I applied a little Gorilla Glue to the new handle for added strength before screwing it on.

Door handle broke
Followed instructions listed here that I needed to separate the inside facing on the door with a butter knife so that I could see the two screws that held the handle in place. Easy off, easy on. And I am NOT a very good handy man.

Handle broke away from door@bottom.
Removed the 1 inch plastic frame on inside of door, gave me access to 1 set of screws. The problem I encountered was, getting to the set that holds the handle to the door.I didn't realize the metal frame held the outside with flexible hooks, therefore once u snapped them off, the outside with the handle on it HIT the floor glass and all!<br />Fortunately it didn't break. Supporting the outside is most important.

Broken handle on a microwave door
Open the door. Pry out the plastic cover shield to expose the bottom screw. Remove the screws and the remains of the broken handle. Install the new handle. Reinstall the cover.

broken door handle
First i pick up all the tools that I thought would be needed for the door handle replacement. I looked at the exploded diagram online, but did not know how to remove the inside panel to expose the handle mounting screws? I did not want to break any more plastic parts by pulling to hard on the old weaken parts. I have 30 years experience repairing office and banking equipment but never took a microwave apart.. Next I read two reviews by two different women explaining how easy it was to take off the inside panel with a butter knife---yes a butter knife. The knife worked great and I never would have used a knife. Everything just unsnapped from there on. Thank You to those women.

Broken Handle
First removed the inner panel. Use kitchen knife. Panel is snapped on. I could not remove hinge end so just pulled panel back. Two screws are then easily removed . Then the handle end top and bottom of outer panel must be snapped off. I could then get enough clearence to remove the two other screws which go thru outer panel only. I replaced the handle and reassembled in reverse order.

Had to replace the door handle on my microwave
I removed the inner bracket that held the glass in place with a nylon dish scraper that we use to clean our pots and pans with. It was safer than using a screw driver. I inserted the tapered portion of the scraper between in the bracket and the door edge on the inside of course, then slid it across the opening all around the door until the it separated. Making it easy to remove scews for the handle and the glass bracket.

Handle broke and cracked outer frame
First remove the inner frame, take out the two screws holding the handle on. Detach the handle and outer frame making sure you hold the glass as this comes out with the frame. Fit the glass into the new frame, fit the frame to the door, sit the new handle in position and screw the two screws through the door skin and outer frame.Clip the inner frame in position and job done. It's as easy as that.

Door handle broke off . Need to order handle . Is there another part inside the door i might need to order to put back on. And can you sen instructions on how to take apart to put back on?
For model number JVM1660WB001
PartSelect logo
Hi Susan, Thank you for your inquiry. This would be the correct part for your model number. To remove the old handle, you will first have to disconnect power to your appliance. Then open the door. Using a putty knife, pry the trim on the back of the door off from the front. There are little retaining clips all around the front outer frame of your door that hold the back trim in place. Once you have that trim out you will have exposed the screws that keep your handle in place. Unscrew those screws, reuse them to install your new handle. Snap the back trim back into place. Good luck with your repair.

For model number jvm1305ww002
PartSelect logo
Hello Michael, Thank you for the question. Here is a repair story sent in by a previous customer. 1. I removed the top handle screw on the inside of the door (visible) 2. I removed the plastic seal from around the glass window on the inside of the door (pried out with screw driver; comes out easily) 3. I removed the lower handle screw on the inside of the door (hidden under the plastic seal) 4. Replaced the handle and screws 5. Re-installed the plastic seal 6. Door works like new. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
