Hinge assembly cracked
First I turned off the power to the oven. Next I had to slide the oven out from under the counter top. I could not find an installation manual since my oven is 15 yrs old. I wish that I had since I ripped one of the screws out of the enclosure that was used to hold the oven in place. The screws that hold the top trim piece in above the control panel must be removed first. There are two other screws on this piece that are not accessible until you pull the oven out from the enclosure. With the screws out of the top piece you need to flip the piece up so that you can tilt the control panel forward and then pull it enough to get a screw driver in to remove screws that go through the side into the sides of the cabinet to hold the oven in so that it does not move forward when the oven door is opened. Once the screws are removed the oven should be able to be slid forward so that it can be removed from the enclosure.
I used some pieces of 2x4 and 4x4 to rest the oven on before I pulled it out all the way. You may only be able to pull it part way out initially as described in the next step.
Depending on the length of the wire connected to the oven you may not be able to slide the oven all of the way out until you disconnect the wires. You should be able to pull the oven out far enough to access 2 screws in the back of the top cover. Ideally you should be able to pull the unit out far enough to see the screws. You do not have to take the fan cover off, it can stay attached to the main cover. Once you get the cover off you will have to squeeze the connector for the fan wire to disconnect the fan from the amin harness so that you can remove the top cover completely.
CAUTION this next step is where you disconnect the power from the oven. Make sure that the digital display is not lit and use a volt meter to make sure that the power is still off. 240V is nothing to play with. You will need a nut driver or other suitable tool to take the nuts of of the 3 wires for the power cable. Note which color wire goes where. They should line up in color with the wires on the unit if it is done right. There is also a ground wire that you will have to remove with a philips screw driver.
Now pull out the oven which may be a two person job since it has some weight to it. I moved the oven to a heavy blanket so that I could move it around and lay it over to work on it with out scratching my kitchen's laminate floor. There are sharp edges on the metal enclosure.
To access the hinge requires several panels to be removed. Lay the oven on it's side so that the hinge you are repairing is on top of the oven. Take the back panel of the oven off first. There are just a few screw holding the panel on at the top of the oven. The bottom of the panel has tabs that fit in to slots. Make sure that yo get the tabs in the slots when you put the panel back on. There is also a small wire conduit that you may have to unscrew but it might not be necessary. This is just a little metal channel that cover the wires on top of the oven. It is in plain sight add is only a few inches long and about 3/4 inches wide. It does have tabs that hooks into the top cover. Make sure that the tab is hooked into the small hole in the top cover when you reassemble the oven later.
The rear cover has to be taken off to access the back screws for the inner side panel. Remove the back screws and the other screws holding the side panel in place. Make sure that you pay attention to how the panel is over lapped with the top and bottom of the oven. I believe that the side panel overlaps the top and the bottom of the side panel goes inside the bottom pan. If this is not done correctly the screws on the bottom will not have anything to screw into. I do not think that it can be done wrong. There are holes in the front of the side panel that have 2 screws that go into the side of the oven. Take these out also. These are pain to get out and put back in. A magn
