The dishwasher door wouldn't open
I removed the screws from the inside of the door that mount the inside panel to the door frame. The latch assembly is mounted with 2 of these screws. I disconnected the wires on the old latch assembly and installed them on the new assembly. Note: the connectors are color coded and need to go on the correct side of thelatch assembly. Then put the assembly into place on the door frame. Then I replaced the inner panel using the screwsw previously removed. I then tested the latch-works perfect. Thanks Partselect.com...you are the best!!!

Handle/latch had broken
Replacement took maybe 3 minutes.
If you can not replace this part, then you have no business owning a home or going to the bathroom by yourself.
PartsSelect was economical and shipping was lightening fast. I'll be back for all my appliance parts needs.

Plasti door hand fell off and fell inside the door
Took the inside cover off the door and replaced the handle. This probably saved us $100 by the time we would have paid for a service call from a repair man.

Door latch broken in two pieces
A ratching screwdriver with a torx bit makes the repair job relatively easy. The most difficult part of the whole repair was to try and separate the wire connectors from the two latch switches. I gave up and just transferred the old switches with wire connectors attached to the new latch assembly.

Dishwasher handle was broken
Although I might have been able to replace just a single peice to effect this repair, I chose to replace the entire door latch assembly. Just took off about a dozen torx screws from the inside of the door which then revealed the latch assembly. Simply remove two electrical cnxns off the old latch, replace onto the new latch, replace the dozen screws and you're done. Talk about saving money. Oh, these guys had the part to me in less than 48 hours wiith no extra shipping charge and their schematics on the web site made it easy to determine what I needed.

Pastic door latch broke
I open the door and removed 11 scews. I than removed the inside of the door to access the latch. I pulled the two wire clips and remove the latch. Place the new latch in the slots and pushed the wire clips back on. I than replaced the back panel and drove the screws back in.
The funny thing is at first I called a local appiance dealer here in town to get the part. After two weeks of waiting and no return call. I notified them to forget the order. I went on line and found this web site. Within three days I had my part at a better price than I was qouted by the appliance store.

This brand of maytag certainly doesn’t live up to it’s brand name
So the door failed one fine evening and blew water and the door open. Come to find out the latching mechanism had failed due to stress cracks. The last sterilization cycle seems to do the failed part in totally to the point if failed on the next wash cycle.
So 12 screws later and a new door latch assembly I have a working Maytag once again.
Steps are:
1.Unplug dishwasher of AC supply
2.Lower front door 45 degrees down.
3.Remove 5 screws on the top of door assembly
4.Remove next lower 4 screws mid door assembly. Leaving the lowest screws in place.
5.Separate front door assembly from inter shell of door.
6.Grab door latch assembly and disconnect one switch at a time. Replace one switch connector at a time to the new latch assembly.
7.You must keep in mind that the switches have a locking connector so use a very fine screw driver to disengage the lock in the center of the plug.
8.Once you have swaped out of old latch reassemble in reverse order.
And your done! ?

Dishwasher refused to operate- broke the handle trying to 'kickstart it.
Have an identical model at another house so traded parts until it worked- turned out the control panel flat wiring was crimped & broke some circuits. Never would have guessed the problem. The new control panel (& latch) were a piece of cake to install-11 screws later.

Broken door latch
grabbed a chair & sat in front of dishwaser, removed all screws (11) on inside of door, latch held on by two most center screws, lift inner panel away from door outer a few inches, with pliers carefully slide off siamese spade terminals from latch assy. ( note wire color positions) install wires on new latch & reassemble inner & outer door panels (parts needed as per on line was somewhat confusing as noted in other contributors descriptions, I ordered Pn 2180048 & it was the correct part, PartSelect is a great resource including the customer feed back, wish there were more sources out there like them, will buy from them in future as needed

Handle broke when opening the dishwasher (should have been a maytag recall)
With the correct torx bit, I was able to unscrew the fasteners on the inside of the dishwasher door. The handle assemble required unpluging two electrical terminals (flipped breaker switch for safety that had the dishwasher on it's circuit). To disconnect the terminals, I used a flat head screw driver to this. By placing the screw driver blade between the old assy switch and the terminal blade and then rotating the srew driver blade, the terminal blade slid out of the old assy electrical connector. Two of the screws holding the door, also held the latch assy. I switched the broken assy with the good assy, replaced the electrical wires, then replaced the screws in the door & reset the circuit breaker. Job done, The hardest part was getting past the fear of repairing my first dishwasher.

Original seller stated at least $350 to trouble shoot and repair dishwasher or $600 to replace.
Using a screwdriver, I was able to obtain part numbers from Circuit Board from the inside of the Dishwasher door and confirm the part numbers from your web site. Then, I was able to order an $88 part and repair the dishwasher.

Release handle broke on dishwasher
First I had to cut the two screws holding the dishwasher in place with a sawsall. I then pulled the machine out and unlatched the door. I then unscrewed the inside panel of the door to access the broken handle. Next I removed the broken handle. I then googled my dishwasher and ended up at partselect. I accessed the schematic drawing for the dishwasher to determine which part was broken and get the part number. I then ordered the part which I recieved in two days. I then put in the new handle and replaced the two sdrews holding the dishwasher in place.
