Wrong color
We have a black dishwasher. The old black latch handle was broken, so I couldn't reuse it. But the only colors available for the new assembly were white and bisque. But the bisque handle isn't too objectionable.

Needed special tool to remove the inner door and drill would fit. Had to unscrew by hand. Could not get metal prongs out of spade. Pulled and tuged for a long while.
Once disassembly was done, it wasn't that difficult. Had to hand screw everything back,

CustomerHARRY from BOCA RATON FL
Plastic handle failed at pivot point
Turned power off at the breaker. Removed nine of the eleven screws that hold the inner door panel to the outer panel leaving the two bottom screws loosened but in place to retain the alignment between the two halves. Separated the two halves at the top by about three inches using folded dish towels to maintain the separation. The entire latch and handle assembly lifts out with the electrical connections in place. Carefully pried the push-on AMP type connectors off with a soft pry tool. Put connectors on the replacement latch switches and dropped the latch and handle back in place. Removed towels, put two door halves back in place, replaced all screws finger tight, assured that the door aligned with the mating face of the dishwasher cabinet (its very twist-able when the screws are loose)carefully tightened a couple of screws, again checking the door alignment with the cabinet and then final tightened the screws. Done

"swivel pins" on the door latch both broken
Just took the dishwasher door apart, took out the old latch (handle) assembly and popped in the new one. If a 74-year-old woman can do it, I'm sure about anyone could. Thanks for the good service.

The latch would no long hold the dishwasher door closed.
1.Turned off the pwoer to the dishwasher. 2.Opened the dishwasher and removed the torx screws holding the back panel of the door. The top center two screw also hold the latch in place. 3.Gently opened the back cover about 4 inches. 4.Release the two small clips on each side of the latch switches. This releases the complete latch/switch assembly. 5.Remove the wires from the switches.(be sure to keep them seprated) 5.Replace the complete latch assembly with swithches. 6.Plug wires into swithes. 7.Replace rear cover. 8.Re-install torx screws. 9.Turn the power back on and your ready to go.

Door latch broken, no lights on, could not start.
Opened the front panel, cleaned everything, installed the new part and ... the only reason it took me longer (this is the funny part) it's because I forgot to turn on the switch on the wall so, kept working on until my wife remainded me. I recommend your web site for the easy navigation, the great instruction and the fast deliver of the right product. Thank you!

Handle and door latch complete assembly with switches
I have had this machine about four years and this is the second time I have had to replace the door latch. I unscrewed all but the bottom two screws on the inside of the door and leaned the piece outward in order to remove and replace the latch. It is pretty simple to replace

Plastic latch handle broken
This is the second time in 8 years that the latch handle broke. Its made of plastic and that is obviously why its not very sturdy. Since its a part that is used every time you latch the door shut to do a wash load it could have been better designed.
Using a torque screw driver I separated the back inside panel on the door from the front panel. The latch assembly was immediately freed since two of the screws that hold the top of the panel also hold the latch assembly on. I separated the left and right wires from the latch by pulling the wire sockets away from the latch. There are some detents that have to be pushed since they hold the wire caps on. removed the latch assembly and replaced it with the new assembly. Plugged the wire caps back into the new assembly, replaced the rear panel back on to the front panel and screwed all of the perimeter screws back in. when working with the latch assembly use something to keep the front and rear panels separated so that they don't snap shut while your working. Very easy repair and one that can save you a ton of money.

Broken latch handle
1. Shut off the power. (important!) 2. Removed 9 screws from the door panel. Left the bottom 2 in place. There is enough room to access the latch assembly. 3. Removed the broken assembly. The microswitch connections were easily removed by inserting the tip of a large scewdriver and carefully rotating it to ease the switch off the prongs. 4.Installed the new latch assembly and replaced all the 9 screws. 5. Closed the door and reapplied the power. Success! 6.Time taken was 10 minutes.
The instructions from others with a similar problem were invaluable.
