Door getting harder to open and close and finally broke
I watched the video on how to to do the replacement on a similar part. VERY HELPFUL! But why would any one pay more for the part with out the handle??? I ordered the part, regular shipping and it was here in 2 business days. Then I had to buy a new screw driver for the 11 idiotic screws Maytag uses to hold door panel instead of something normal like a Phillips. That was the most difficult part of the repair. I wiggled the metal prongs loose from the switches and put the new part in. Two screws at top hold the handle in place. Put remaing screws back and Ta Da... Even a blonde woman did it with ease.

Door handle broken
First I located the electric breaker for the dishwasher and manually tripped it to the off position. Then I opened the dishwasher door and removed the eight "torx" screws around the inside door perimeter ( this allows access to the door latch assembly ). I then removed the wire connections that are on the left and right side of the door latch assembly (these are plug in connections but care must be taken to prevent breaking the pins that hold the microswitches in place). With the wires disconnected I discarded the old latch. I then attached the two plug connectors on the new door assembly latch and carefully placed through the door opening and positioned the inside washer door to secure the door latch . I then replaced the eight torx screws and closed / opened the door to verify door latch worked properly. I then reset the electrical breaker and everything works fine now.

Broken latch
I removed the inside door panel, then removed the latch assembly. Called your co., ordered the latch. and 3 days later the package with the latch arrived. It took about 10-15 minutes to put the latch in and replace the door panel.

Broken hinge in the handle door latch
Easy....turn off the electricity...loosen the screws around the inside of the door and separate the inner lining and the outside shell. Remove the old door latch by unplugging the two connectors..slide the new one in place, replace the screws and you're ready to go... easy repair that saved me a $75 service call!

Handle broke in half
My husband done this repair in a matter of 10 minutes. We could not be happier. Ten dollars, thats including shipping and she was done. If we would have got a Maytag repair man. Lets just say it would have been cheaper to by a new dishwasher. Thanks I give your company an A+ Sheryl.

Plastic handle,latch broke
Dis-connected power to dishwasher. Removed torx screws holding inside cover of door. Lifted door cover, unpluged wires from micro switches on handle (this proved to be somewhat difficult pliers needed). Removed broken handle assembly and replaced with the new one. Re-installed door cover. The wife is happy again!

Plastic handle that opens the door broke to pieces.
Unscrewed the dozen or so hex bolts around the inside of the dishwasher door. Popped out the handle & latch assembly. Disconnected the safety switch leads. Then connected in the new latch and closed it all up. Longest time was finding the right size hex wrench to diassemble the door. The new latch & handle are much better constructed. Critical pivot is now metal reinforced instead of just plastic. This should have been a recall item, there is no way the old handle would last too long.

Latch broke, door would not stay shut
Unscrewed all the torx screws that attached inner door panel to outer door panel. Pulled out handle which which had contacts (?) that were attached to two wire leads (Black and White). These leads were hard to remove from the terminal ends coming off the contacts. I had to break the old contacts to get them off. Hooked up the new handle which had new contacts to the wire leads, installed the screws back in all the way around, and done. Very easy.

Broken latch
Had to remove all screws from inside door. just slide it out of the way. The latch will already be unscrewed as the door screws hold it in place. The hardest part was the wire plugs leading to the 2 switches would not come off. I had to break both old switches to get the plug out. After that it was simple. I did not have to turn the power off to do the repair, but I would recommend it to a novice.

Handle broke
Removed the Handle Assembly. I did not have a model number tag on the dishwasher so I found a whirlpool assembly that was looked like the part I removed. When the part arrived I noticed that it had a steel rod at the pivot point not like that one that I removed that had plastic pivots. During installion I had trouble removing the wiring connectors from the old switch. I removed the connections with a pair of needle nose pliers. Everything was easily removed with phillips and star screwdrivers.

Broken latch assy
I came to your site, reviewed the prior repairs for my maytag appliance and it went perfectly. To all those who went before me into the dark night of appliance repair I salute YOU!! Your instructional comments were right on. I too, had a small problem removing the electrical leads to the switch assemblies but eased them from their contacts with an insulated screwdriver. The rest of the installation was a breeze. I would caution those who are not prone to reading instructions that the assy came with NO instructions. However, armed with this sites' instructions the job was a breeze. The cost of the assy was outstandingly reasonable. The estimated repair by the National Maytag Repairman was litteraly ten times the cost of the part. Way to go! Hopefully none of my other appliances will break, but if they do I'll be back. Thanks again! Chuck Cooke, Bowie, Maryland.

Straight foward repair of latch......
This repair was straight forward and easy.....
Once you remove the inside panel of the door the latch becomes exposed and can be removed.
(For safety shut the power of at the circuit breaker for this appliance.)
Once the power is off the only problem I encountered was the electrical connection for the latch were stuck on.
You will need to use one or two pliers to pull the connections apart.
Once apart install the new latch, and replace all screws in the order you removed them.
This repair will take between 15 and 30 minutes depending on your ability to make home repairs.
