This dryer timer is used to control the unit's cycles by regulating the length of time that power is directed to each setting. The timer comes with two half-inch screws and a metal plate. Since many different timers all look the same, you should conduct a search with your model number to make sure you are getting the right timer for your dryer.
This part works with the following brands: Whirlpool, Admiral, Estate, Inglis, Kenmore, KitchenAid, Roper, Maytag, Crosley, Jenn-Air, Hardwick, Magic Chef, Amana, Caloric & Glenwood.
I removed the top cover and located the faulty timer. I then noted the part number, placed the order and the part came the NEXT DAY via regular mail! I replaced the timer, making sure to reconnect the wires to the appropriate connectors. The dryer has been working fine ever since. I am extermely pleased with PartSelect.com. I not only saved myself the price of a new dryer, but I also saved nearly 1/2 off the replacement part based on a quote from a local retail store.I'm glad I found your website :)

unplugged power cord, pulled timer knob off of stem, removed screws at rear of control panel, swung top of panel forward, LEAVE WIRES ON TIMER, used screw driver to release timer lock tab, turned timer to unlock retaining tabs, NOW REMOVE WIRES ONE AT A TIME AND PLACE ON CORRESPONDING TAB ON NEW TIMER, install new timer by placing tabs in openings and turned to lock in proper position, making sure lock tab snapped into place, put panel back in position, replace screws, replace knob on timer stem, plug power cord in, test cycle for operation,CONGRATULATIONS, it works!
Installed new timer control unit . Dryer then operated normaly.the timer moter bench tested ok. I wonder if there was really a problem with a relay that keeps the timer on during the cycle.
Found the belt was making the noise because it was badly cracked. Took the front of the dryer off and removed the s/s tumbling drum. Checked the ideler wheels and the tension wheel for wear and found none. Re-assembled the dryer with the new belt. After this was completed I replaced the time control in the top panel. This was rather easy as it only slips out after taking apart the box. After this the machine was switched on and every think ran quietly again. The discriptions and pictures used in thier web site is very helpful and shipment was very quick.
