Supports for middle rack of dishwasher broke

The middle (plates and silverware) rack of my maytag dishwasher broke. The supports for the wheels were plastic hubs that bore the weight of the rack.

About a year after owning the dishwasher, the front two plastic wheel hubs that support the rack broke.

I ordered the left and right Rack Adjuster Assembly which included the main T shaped support rail including the two wheels. The good news is that these hubs are METAL which should not break like the weak plastic hubs of the previous version.

I removed about 4-5 screws from the original assembly, and installed the new rack adjuster assembly and replaced the screws. About 20 minutes total for both sides.

I also replaced the tracks since mine were somewhat bent after the original supports broke.

Very nice to have a fully operational / sturdy middle rack again on this dishwasher.

My dog got into the kitchen by going over the dishwasher (100 lb lab), and bent the rack tracks and broke one of the track wheels. My family wanted a new dishwasher. Whereas I am cheap.

A simple remove and replace was all it took. Remove the little latches on the end of the tracks, Slide the track out, take the broken wheels off-they snap off. Snap new wheels on rack. Slide new track in threading it through the stationary wheels attached to the wall of the unit, and through the wheels of the rack. Snap the end-caps back on. Good as new. Also replaced a fold away tine that had the plastic worn off it (=rusted). These snap out and new one in very easily.

Wheels in upper rack track broke

The big problem is that you cannot purchase the wheels only. I found that out after ordering the rack track because that looked like what I needed. But it didn't come with the wheels. So I returned it. Then I went to the basement and found things in my junk boxes and fixed it without purchasing the complete parts. Cost: 10 cents for two nuts vs $60 for the required parts.

The "rollers" on the adjuster were broken and it was hard to keep the rack on the track.

I removed the middle rack from the dishwasher being careful to pay attention to how the end stops were located. I put the rack on the kitchen table and with my new parts placed where I could reach them, simply unscrewed the faulty parts and replaced them with the new parts! Couldn't have been easier. I especially appreciated the ease of navigating your web site and locating the parts I needed. I was looking for something entirely different until I read feedback from a previous customer and knew instantly what part I needed!

Broken upper dishwasher rack wheels

First had to find star screw driver, removed stops to pull rack out of dishwasher; removed screws holding the part on the rack. Figured out how the lever worked that adjusted the rack and put it back together. Hard parts: find star screwdriver; put part on with the lever working to adjust the height of the rack. Wonderful service from your company; diagrams on line perfect; I am not that handy!. Patty, pharmacist.

No instructions included. Have to take part to hardware store to get the proper bit.

Repair has been delayed due to the fact that I do not own the right size bit for the screw.

The top track rail broke so had to replace with new ones so we could slide the top rack in and out.

First emptied and removed the rack from the dishwasher. then removed the broken track rails. and the end posts from the broken track rails. Put one end posts in the track rail and then placed track rail onto rack and placed in the washer. Then placed the other end posts so the track rail would stay in place when pulled out.
That was it
