Bad switch that appeared to be worse than it appeared
1. Turned power to the unit off. 2. Used a star bit to remove the 7 screws holding the door panel in place. 3. Handed each to my 2 year-old grand daughter. 4. Removed a 1" switch metal retaining plate and a black plastic cover. Removed one screw holding the switch in place. 5. Gently lifted out the old switch and compared it to the replacement switch. 6. Inserted the two black connectors into the new switch. 7. Removed each of the four wires connected to the old switch and connected each, in-turn, to the new switch. Removed the exterior black handle from the old switch and snapped it into place on the new switch. 8. Put the switch into place, reinstalled the black plastic housing cover and long 1" metal switch retaining panel. 9. Set the door cover in place and let the 2 year-old screw in the 7 retaining screws. 10. Don't have to listen to the wife complain about the dishwasher anymore.

Dishwasher would not work unless the door was held in with pressure.
I removed the screws on the inside of the door. Removed the cover and changed door switch and holder and put the new one in. Replaced the cover all in less than half an hour.

The latch was becoming very difficult to open being almost 10 years old
I had to remove the screws around the door frame and remove the side panels that attached the inside cover from the interior of the door. Once I removed it I could then unscrew the top cover that then allowed me to remove an inside cover for the internal electrical connections and the door latch was then open for repair. The electrical connections to both sides of the door switch and holder assemby had to be pulled from the assembly and I was then able to remove the assembly and the door latch. The new door holder and latch handle had to be connected to the electrical wires and inserted back into the door and the initial process was reversed to reinstall.

Handle to open door was broke off
very easy to replace! !
Remove the retaining screws holding the inner door panel in place. Then lift the panel away, make sure you unplug the wiring connector there noting the way it was plugged in.
Then remove the screws holding the stainless trim panel in place over the latch assembly area. Unscrew the screw retaining the latch/switch assembly, unplug the connectors on each side of the two switches, assemble the new latch/switch assembly and install ! !

Dishwasher would stop in the middle of a wash cycle
Our dishwasher got to the point where it would not complete a wash cycle. I found that by jiggling the door latch, the dishwasher would whir back to life. For awhile, if I put a clothespin on the door latch, somehow enough pressure would be put on the switch to keep the dishwasher going. Finally, the dishwasher refused to cooperate...so I ordered a replacement switch.
The repair was easy. I only had to remove the interior door panel, unscrew the metal bar at the top of the door and underneath the door panel, then remove the black plastic shield. After that, it was just a matter of wiggling the old switch out and wiggling the new switch.
CAUTION: Be very sure that the power to the dishwasher is turned off. I got a scare because I thought the circuit breaker was off, but I had flipped the wrong one and suddenly, with my fingers very close to the bare connectors, the dishwasher came back to life briefly. I ran downstairs and found the correct circuit breaker and all was fine after that.

Close door, turn on dishwasher, walk away. 5 to 10 min later dishwasher not running. Push in at the door latch and dishwasher would start back up.
Removed the inner door panel-Removed the black cowling covering the timer and wires. Removed the swicth assembly and installed new part. Reassembled dishwasher.
I checked the operation of the two switches. One switch did not click, when button was pushed, as cleanly as the other. There was a bit of delay and play in the button when depressed, even sticking a bit.

Dishwasher would not work at all
After checking this site for any clues I saw that others had the same problem and changed the door switch so I thought I would give it a shot.I removed the inner part of the door(plastic). It had about 8 screws. Then there was a plastic cover that covers the wiring that comes right out and there was the switch. There are really 2 switches that come with the latch.then take out one screw with the nut driver.Take the four wires off the old latch and install on the new latch. Then screw back into the door and put inside part of the door together.Close the door and turn on and away you go.I also turned off the power to play it safe.I was thinking of replacing the dishwasher cause it is 10 years old but now I can take my time and wait for a good deal.Thank you very much partselect. Also I ordered the part 12.00 Sunday nite and recieved it on Tuesday afternoon with no special shipping.Wow!

The latch mechanism stopped working and I couldn't run my dishwasher.
My husband removed the screws that hold the inside panel in place to expose the contral panel area. He disconnected the wire connections and removed the part to replace. One of the relay housings cracked and he had to glue it back together before he could reassemble the whole thing. I did not include drying time in the repair time estimate. After reassembly, the dishwasher worked like a charm. Many thanks to PartSelect.com and my husband!

Dishwasher wouldn't start, no power on any setting
Removed door interior, confirmed with tester that power was reaching door cut-off switch, but not power on other side of switch when engaged. Noticed that little switch button frozen in shut position, assumed switch had burned out. Installer new door cut-off switch with new (dual) switch units in place, plugged in unit and it ran perfectly.

Dishwasher did not turn on
I determined that the problem was the door switch after disassembling the door and noting a broken electrica switch. After receiving the new part, I replaced the whole door switch assembly, and the dishwasher turns on and works fine.

Dishwasher would turn on
I removed the inside panel. This exposed the rear of the control panel. I carefully replaced the defective switch. Only one was bad but of course i replaced both.

Unit would only stay on if one was pushing the door
First I removed power to the dishwasher. The inside panel of the dishwasher door is held on with several screws with Phillips heads. Remove those and the panel comes off. There is a silver metal guard that you have to pull off being careful not to tear the insulation that is on the other side. Then there is one hex head screw to take off the handle latch assembly. You remove this assembly and take off the wires to the two switches on each side of the assembly. The replacement part doesn't come with the black plunger that pushes on the switch buttons so you have to remove it from the old assembly. This was the only difficult part, I essentially destroyed the old plastic assembly getting it out. But putting it in the new assembly was easy. Then I attached the wires to the switches in the new part and reassembled everything. Works like a charm now.
