Door Gasket

I fiest replaced the door latch and grommet. Thanks to other's repairs, I purchased the latch and grommet as well as the door gasket. It took a bit longer to replace the grommet and latch as it was covered in scale and the entire assembly needed cleaning first. The door gasket installed very easily and I am happy to say no more leaks. Great site and very helpful with the customer comments as well as the videos available witht he parts list detailing installation procedures. Excellant site I will revisit if I need any parts for other appliances. Thank you.

First leak occured about two years ago. Changed gasket and grommet. All was fine until a few days ago when it started leaking again. I cleaned around the gasket and reseated the gasket on the lower right side where the water was coming from and it stopped. Ordered a new gasket and grommet figuring it was only a matter of time until it started leaking again. Changed the gasket and grommet. Was careful to put in new gasket exactly like old one. Tested and found large leak during wash cycle. Opened and reseated gasket. Same result. Tried turning gasket around, stretching, compressing, etc all to no avail. Noticed that there was water ouside the gasket all along the top and down the right side of the door. Discovered that I coud stop the leak by holding pressure on the door. Looks like the latch and hinges are wearing out and giving way. New diswasher is on order....

First, I want to thank others who have replied stating that they also needed the Dispenser Door Latch Grommet. I did, too.

Door Gasket-I used needle nosed pliers to grab the old gasket and pulled it right out. I took notice of the direction of the inside of the gasket to ensure I replaced the new in the same direction. I used a warm and wet wash cloth to clean around the gasket home and then gently pressed the new one in. Done! Just like that.

Dispenser Door Latch Grommet-
1. Unscrewed the 7 torx screws
2. Lifted the inside door
3. Unplugged the electrical connectors. Make careful note as to which goes where. They require moderate pressure to remore and reinstall (R&R).
4. I saw that the grommet did indeed need replacing and cleaned the old soap from inside the door.
5. Used a nut driver to unscrew the two screws holding the latch assembly. Needle nosed pliers will also work.
6. R&R the old and new grommet.
7. Reinserted the latch assembly and tightened the screws.
8. Replaced the inside of the door and fastened with the 7 torx screws.
9. No leaks. :-)

Did some research on the web on how to replace the door gasket. No instructions were included with the part.
Once the part arrived, I soaked it in hot water around 30 minutes to remove the crease from where it was folded during delivery. Dried it off. Pulled the old gasket out of the door, cleaned the area with a soapy water and sponge and inserted the new gasket. Door fits tight and no leaks!

The gasket arrived without any instructions so the first step was to search the internet and find out how to repace the gasket.
Once the instructions were found it was easy simply use some type of tool (screwdriver in my case), or your fingers to pry the gasket from the track and pull it completely out.
Next I cleaned the track with a damp cloth.
Finally I pushed the new gasket back into the track and tested the seal.

The repair went great. Very simple process to remove the old gasket and just press the new one in by hand. Total time to repair was 3 minutes. This was a very easy process, only needed to use a screw driver and my fingers to do it. The water leak was over. Anyone can do this repair. Don't think about getting a new dishwasher, or a plumber, as this is a very
simple repair that will easily do the fix!

I replaced the door gasket and upon the advice of partsselect ordered the dispenser latch kit with gasket, finding upon removal that this gasket was bad the dishwasher doesn't leak a drop. THANX. Bob K.

The door gasket was the easiest. The old one pulled right out. The new one went right back in very easily. I put some Dow 111 silicone on the bottom inch or so where the door slides against the gasket.

Pulled out old gasket with pliers. Pushed the new one in place by hand. Note: the replacement gasket was slightly narrower and also a good 3 inches shorter! I compensated for the length by leaving in a 3 inch section of old gasket in the middle where I knew there was no leaking and cut the new one into two pieces on either side. The narrower width was a problem because it could not hold itself in place by friction as it was supposed to. Instead I used spray mount adhesive on the backside to help it stay put. Hope it continues to hold. I wish the product description was more precise to help me determine whether this product would work or not. The photos were not sufficient to tell.

Used a piece of tubing and jammed it in until the part came and that worked. Got the gaskets, took out the old one, in with the new ... and cut a wee bit off the end and presto done ... could be my imagination but it seems a tad quieter now as well. Naturally the soap dispenser door took a powder now, so I'm waiting for those pieces (Couldn't find them in the tub, but did manage to slice a finger open on a piece of glass while feeling around for them!) ...

I read your website and followed the GREAT directions that others provided. Repair complete! Dishwasher working and not leaking!

Pulled out the old gasket and pressed in the new one. No more leakage.

There is an online video on how to replace a door gasket on a dishwasher. There are no tools required to do this and it takes less than 15 minutes to do this. And best of all, it resolved the problem. No leak now.

Removed parts as required. Cleaned parts of scale and salt. Installed dispenser door latch grommet. Reversed procedure for installation.

Removed old gasket. Note orientation of cross section. Cleaned groove. Installed new gasket. Carfull not to stretch or cut. Use a blunt push "tool".

Total time 10-15 minutes.
