Lower element in oven not heating.
Removed, tested and measured the old element. Got on line to find the part and ran across Part Select. Ordered and received the part in three business days. It was an exact fit and in good order. The total operation including removal and replacement of the element, locating and ordering the part only took about thirty minutes.....and that includes the ten minutes it took me to find my #2 Phillips screwdriver! : )

heat element wouldn't heat after 30 years of cooking
Pulled screws loose from element, pulled old element out and replaced with new..really simple

How are the wires attached? Mine are clamped on right now. I will have to cut them, possibly strip them back a bit and i don't see how they will attach to those square metal pads?

Hello Eva, thank you for writing. The best thing to do is take one of the metal connectors off the end of the wire (or if its stuck to the element, remove it from the terminal on the element), and take it into a hardware store to purchase a couple more. The wires from the oven would go into the connector and be clamped. Then the other end is slipped over the terminal element. You're basically replacing the end of that wire, which is a metal connector clamp. I hope this helps!
