Error message is f-1, which is faulty membrane switch

Remove burners and disconnect igniter wires. Remove screws that hold on top of range. Remove screws that hold on front panel. Reach in and disconnect ribbon connector. Front control panel is just stuck on, so gently pry it off. Reverse procedure for new membrane switch. Due to poor engineering, mine goes out every 15-18 months.

take the 4 screws out, remove the end caps which hold the glass peice on, disconnect the ribbon cable, pry off the old panel, use the razor to clean off the tape/glue, then put it back together.
repair was very easy, took 30 minutes, and it hasn't beeped for over 2 weeks.

F1 error code and beeping

Removed 4 screws holding top cover in place.
Took out knobs.
Removed side slides holding panel glass in place
Unplugged Touch panel from ECU
Pulled off old touch panel.
Used WD-40 to remove old adhesive from panel glass
Had to enlarge timer knob hole on new touch panel to fit old knob
Installed new touch panel and plugged back in
Cleaned old greasy areas that were not touched in years (anal retentive action)
Re assembled everything else

6 days and no F1 error or beeping

F-1 warning and beeping

Turn off power ,pull off clock and timer buttom ,lift the light cover , remove a screw on each side of the light, ,than with the stuby screwdriver remove one screw on each side at bottom of front glass, front glass should come loose. peel off the control plate .it is just stuck on the glass front. you will then see where the wire plug go's , unplug the old discard the entire front panel you just peeled of ,,feed new panel wire through the hole and replug it . it only go's one way,peal and stick the control panel., put glass front back ,replace the screws,

F1 alarm on touch pad

Slide smooth stove top back. then removed 2 screws on top and 2 on bottom of clock and control mechanism. disconnected the touch pad and peeled it of f front of stove. Cleaning the adhesive from under the touch pad took the longest. I did that with rubbing alcohol. I then peeled the backing off the new pad and put it in place. Reconnected the clock and control mechanism and replaced the screws. No more alarms.
When I had called Whirlpool (the now makers of Magic Chef). They told me I would have to have a technician diagnosis the problem and if what I thought was wrong, the part was no longer available. The technician had told me if they could get the part it would cost $289-$389 to replace. Thanks to Partselect and everyone here it cost me $100 and I had the part the next morning.

Changing the front control panel

Pry out the old electronic control panel.
Lift the range top and disconnect wires to keep it aside for easy working.
Disconnect the wire clips for the old panel and remove.
Connect the new panel aligning the clips.
Stick the new panel on the front which has an adhesive backing.
Reconnect the range top wires and put back in place.

F1 fault on magic chef caused non-stop alarming

Turn off power. Remove the four screws holding the panel. Pry off the membrane and unplug the ribbon. Scrape off old glue then plug in new ribbon ensuringit is tight. Peel the tape backing off and apply in position of old membrane. Replace four screws and turn power back on.

Element bad. Clock membrane touch panel bad.

Remove 2 screws and replce element (turn power off first). Pull old touch panel off and unplug. Plug in new touch panel and stick to front off appliance.

F1 alarm on touch pad membrane

Turned off power.Removed smooth stove top, then removed 4 screws on clock control mechanism, disconnected touch pad membrane and peeled it from front of stove, cleaned off old adhesive, peeled off backing from new touch pad and put it in place. Reconnected the touch pad, put 4 screws in clock mechanism,replaced stove top,turned on power. No more alarms,stove works fine.

Popped open the glass top, disconnected the wire of the faulty touch panel and removed the panel. Cleaned the adhesive off under the panel and connected the wire from the new part. Removed backing of new part and stuck it on. Simple! I was told by a service company that I needed a new range because they couldn't get this part, so glad I found PartSelect.

"f1" alarm on display.

I disassembled the control/light unit (maybe 6 screws total). Unplugged the touch-display panel and pryed it off the glass front. I cleaned the glass with a razor blade and alcohol. When the new part arrived I simply lined up the new touch-display and stuck it on, plugged it in to the old strip in the back of the unit and put everything back together.
