Product Description

Oven Bake Element Specifications

This is a 2800 watt, 240-volt Whirlpool oven bake element that is sourced directly from the original manufacturer for stoves, ovens, cooktops, or range ovens. This part should be replaced if the element is not heating, heating unevenly, or is too hot. It has a terminal distance of 16 inches with a terminal depth of 3 inches. Disconnect power to the oven before replacing the bake element. Unscrew the Phillips screws directly above the element brackets to remove the existing element, and remove the wire harness without losing the wires. It is recommended to inspect the wire terminals to ensure they are not arced or burnt while the element is removed.

Broil element burst
Drop in range was in excellent condition until element burst and was getting ready to purchase another range and then I was looking to replace the element and found part select and they were great from the order process and shipping was fast and the whole process was 5 STARS. As far as me doing the repair I watched the video and it was simple for even me. I also replaced the bake element at the same time. Once again I highly recommend Part Select and they are second to none.

Bake element burned out
Removed the failed bake element per the video linked in the Partselect email. Unlike the video on YouTube the PartSelect video shows that the bake element can easily be replaced through the oven door and it is not necessary to slide the range out and remove a rear panel.

The element on my 20+ year old Jenn Zaire oven had broken in two...
Went online to find replacement part. (Because I’m cheap) Came across the website, found the part by model number, and watched the wonderful replacement video that was right on the same page as the part. After the part arrived, (in just a couple of days) I put the new one in. Only took a couple of minutes! Perfection! Thanks for making my problem, no problem at all!

The Baking Element won't heat to bake.
I had the problem before and had to call in a Tech to repair the baking element in my oven. It cost me $150.00 for the repair. This time I decided to do the repair myself, so I went online and found this site The instruction video made it very easy. I am very proud of what I was able to do without calling a Tech. My oven works like new, It only cost less than $40.00 for the total repair. I am so glad this site were there when I needed them.. Thanks a Lot..

Oven baking coil had burned out
Removed two screws from back of oven ,pulled apart old coil from wires, inserted new coil into the small metal pieces, pushed back and screws replaced. Really easy , anyone can do. Oh, I am 70 years old so probably people younger could do more quickly.

replace broken bake element
Unplugged the range. Took our the oven shelves. Unscrewed the bars holding the broken bake element to the back of the oven wall. Gently pulled out the wiring to which the bake element is attached. Slipped the ends of the broken bake element off the ending on the wiring. Then slipped the ends of the new bake element over the ends on the wiring. Then pushed the wiring with attached bake element back into their position behind the oven wall and attached the bars holding the bake element to the back of the oven wall. This is really easy because it is exactly like the on-line video, for I am a 75 year old female with little technical experience.

I have found this bake element here that says it fits my Magic Chef oven but the distance between my two terminals is 18 19". This one says it 16". Do the heating elements spread easily enough to cover this? Thank you, henry pearson
For model number 6898VVV Magic Chef
PartSelect logo
Hello Henry, Thank you for your inquiry. 16 inches is the actual length of the terminals right up to the brackets, with an additional 3 inches from the brackets to the ends. The distance between them is between 18 and 19 inches. Hope this helps!

The bottom heating element of my oven burned out (it was quite an impressive show!). The unit is currently unplugged while awaiting replacement of that element. Is it safe to plug it back in and use the cooktop?
For model number CE3878VVV
PartSelect logo
Hello Mikki, Thanks for your question. The top burners on your cooktop are wired separately, but be sure to turn off your stove and remove the bottom bake element prior to using the cooktop to avoid any risks. I hope this helps.

I purchased the ps11744014 heating element, but one of the connecting terminals was fused to the old element and needs to be replaced. I can't find that part on the site, can you direct me to the right part? This is the clamp terminal connector that the heating element attaches to.
For model number 6898XRB
PartSelect logo
Hello Stan, thank you for your question. There was a kit of parts available from the manufacturer to re-wire the appliance but that part has been discontinued. If the metal terminal was fused to the element itself and had to be cut off the wire, that terminal can be replaced without having to remove the entire wire and then having to try and push it back through the back wall of the oven. I would cut the metal terminal off the wire, pick up another one at a hardware store (make sure to get the appropriate ones for high heat ect) then put the wire back into the terminal then reattach to the element. I hope this helps!

Hello Kyle, Thank you for the question. This sounds like the clock will need to be replaced. I looked up the part and it is listed as No Longer Available/Discontinued. There is no part substitutions listed. My suggestion here would be to call the manufacturer and see if they can provide you with a substitution for these part numbers. Hope this helps!
