This door lock switch is a black and metallic switch that carries 120 volts. It is designed to lock the oven door during self-clean, and will not open until sufficient cooling time has elapsed.
This part works with the following brands: Whirlpool, Admiral, Estate, Inglis, Kenmore, KitchenAid, Roper, Maytag, Crosley, Jenn-Air, Hardwick, Magic Chef, Amana, Caloric & Glenwood.
1. Remove four screws on metal panel between top and lower oven doors. Pull the panel forward. You may need to open the top door partially to ease removal of panel.2. Reach behind panel and unplug wire connector from old switch.3. With panel free, squeeze ears on old switch and push through opening to remove.4. Insert new switch in to hole and push from front to seat the switch. BE CAREFUL NOT to mess with the ears--if you try to splay them out (to better seat the switch) the switch will come apart.5. Hold the panel up to opening to connect the wire harness to the switch.6. Realign the metal plate to holes for screws and insert screws. (You may have to twist and turn to get the panel lined up.)Done!

My son removed the switch panel and unplugedthe switch. Then he replaced it with the newswitch fasten back the panel and turned thepower back on and everythiing worked fine.
I contacted a local appliance repair store who didn't know what I was talking about. I looked online and the store called me back to tell me the part would probably be $75.00. I took the broken part out of the door frame and found the exact part online at your site, and ordered it for $14.00. Received the part within 2 days and put it in in 10 minutes.
We had a wood tray in the oven (yes i know) and it is a two stacked oven and turned the wrong oven to broil. The fire was put out quickly but the Latch door switch and assembly was damaged. The 3D breakout of the appliance made it a jiffy to select the correct part numbers. Shipping is very good from Parts Select. The Front assembly for the lower oven comes out with 6 screws. Disconnect the Door Switch Connector push it out and replace that. The Latch Assembly requires a small wrench. It is a bad design but patience will get you there. Once the assembly is out disconnect electrical connectors. Don't worry each connector is unique I advice do it one for one.Overall you need a skill of three stars out of five to complete this task
