Short in dispenser switch
First I removed spill tray. It slipped right out. next I removed the front cover.it had 2 screws hidden by the spill tray. next were the 2 screws holding the selection slider.Under it is 3 more screws after removing them then the assembly will come lose from the refrigerator.Be careful you dont drop the ice door. unplug the assembly. Turn unit over and you will see the limit switch remove and replace it with 1 small phillips screw. remove and replace dispenser actuator pad.replace everything in reverse order. The ice door is the only thing a little tricky.still i replaced ours in about 10 mins.

The limit switch burned and shorted out
I couldn't have repaired the refridgerator at all if your web site didn't have photos along side of the parts. My parts no. was destroyed. But after removing the face plate on the ice dispenser door and checking the area behind the plate, the burned part was clearly identifiable. I removed the one screw holding it and the two connecting wires - and pulled out the tiny switch. On your site, I entered the refridgerator number, and the parts list (300 or so parts for this model) appeared with identifying photos of each part. All it took was to order the part (and the ice door simply because it was old) and put it in when it arrived in one day! No only did I save much cash, but I left with the confidence that I knew what went wrong. It works as good as new now. Thanks!!!!!

Water/ice dispenser would not shut off
Removed front dispenser trim panel by removing 2 torx screws under drip tray. Removed dispenser module by removing 3 torx screws. Unplug electrical connector on LHS of module. Removed the gray actuator pad & the limit switch by removing a small phillips head screw. Removed 2 spade connectors to switch & replaced with new switch. Reverse the steps above to re-assemble the dispenser module & trim panel to the door.

Ice & water dispensor stays on (sticks) after releasing switch
First unplug the fridge, then remove the grill exposing two torx head screws, remove these two screws then slide up cover, unplug small electrical connector at top of cover, then remove three more torx head screws, pull assembly forward leaving wire connector connected at left, note how water line is positioned, remove pad actuator, remove screw holding limit switch (small philips), remove small spade lugs on switch-replace switch, **Important, before installing pad actuator put small amount of sil-glide or white lube on the actuator post, this will prevent the actuator for switch from sticking on when depressed, put back together same order, works great. Great web site! "partselect.com"

Water dispenser fails to shut off
Upon careful inspection, I found that the dispenser also would occasionally fail to shut off when dispensing whole or crushed ice, which led me to think that the problem was in the dispenser actuator rather than in the water solenoid or fountain switch control board. To inspect the actuator mechanism, I shut off power to the refrigerator, removed the escutcheon mounting screws, the escutcheon, the cable from the fountain switch control board, and finally the fountain bracket assembly. There was a small amount of hard water scale on the back of the actuator pad, but no groove in the plastic part of the pad that actuates the switch. I replaced the pad and switch (1 screw) and reassembled the dispenser. The dispenser no longer sticks and shuts off normally.

Water and ice would not shut off!
repaced limit switch, and actuator pad fixed the problem. Limit switch was the reason for water and ice not shutting off. Seems that the spring inside switch was shot and would not retract to off position. While we were going to change this switch out, we repaced the scuffed up actuator pad also. Knowing the age and our hard water problems, we replced the double outlet water valve for preventive reasons that would arise down the road.
