Drum Glide

Took front faia off , took off fan duct, then took old drum glides off and put on the new ones. Make sure you buy two, when you order them they only come in single size lot.

i took the dryer apart to research the squeak. could tell the issue was coming from the idler pulley (the pulley the belt goes around. but since i was taking the whole thing apart i got two new rollers and slides and a spare retaining ring in case i broke the old one during install. in most cases i would purchase a new belt also, but mine still looked new.always unplug the dryer first. then use a flat balde screwdriver and put in between dryer top and dryer body a couple of inches from either side of the dryer, do one side at a time and slightly rotate screwdiver this will disconnect clips holding top of dryer on. once the clips are free lift dryer top like a car hood and let lid rest back against a wall behind dryer. draw a diagram of wire connections as you go this will make reassembly easy. disconnect the two wires attached to the door latch, then on the right side and left side of the dryer about two inches from the top there is a self tapping bolt that needs to be removed. once the bolts are out you will be able to lift and pullback on the front of the dryer to remove. three philips screws hold the lint trap assembly to the door assembly i took these out and vacuumed everywhere i could. there is a plastic assembly on the front of the heater unit, three small bolts will remove this. draw a diagram of the wires attached to the blower unit and disconnect. reach behind the blower unit release the tension on the belt by pulling the tensioner puilley forward, you will then with the other hand be able to remove the belt. with the belt removed, 4 bolts around the frame of the drum will enable you to remove the drum making all the repairs very easy. you will see both black rollers in the back bottom of the machine, remove with a set of snap ring pliers and replace the same way-make sure the side that says "front" is facing you when you install. the tensioner pulley with bearing is also replaced with a single snap ring, all three can be replaced in minutes. the slides are plastic pieces that are mounted on the inside of the front panel of the dryer that the drum rolls on. the old ones just slide out and the new ones slide in as long as the brackets are still good, no tools required. put everything together in reverse order, getting the drum back in and the belt back on my require an extra set of hands, but is not hard. dryer sounds new, saved myself hundredss of dollars, i'm sure and once i diagnosed the problem and had the parts, repairs were made inside of an hour.

Lay"d dryer on back took it apart 5/16 socket and a snap ring plier, orderd parts on a friday afternoon, parts came tuesday 9:30 AM. orderd all glides and rollers as long as it was apart, glad i did they were shot, real easy to repair.

Parts arrived on time as usual. Disassembled dryer and put all parts on. A small pair of snap ring pliers for rremoving the shaft snap ring and wheel of idler woud be beneficial. I did it by removing the entire idler. Hardest part was getting nut back on idler bolt. Nut goes behind mounting bracket for motor and is blocked by dryer exhaust on one side and frame of dryer on other. Used long reach needle nost to hold nut until bolt started into nut.
Reassembled dryer and ran like brand new... no more squeaky!!

I took the bottom on the dryer off, then took the assembly that held in the drum. Then I took the drum out. replaced the bad parts, and put everything back together.
I turned on the dryer, and presto.. no more grinding noise.

removed the front panels, removed the drum, then with with the ring pliers removed the worn out rollers and roller brackets and replaced with new. Vacuumed the inside and replaced the drum and panels.

The repair went just like the video that PartSelect has. I was much easier than I thought it would be. Once I got the Dryer apart I cleaned it and then installed the new parts with no issues. However I did find that the Idler arm and pulley need changing so I have ordered them. I have reassembled the Dryer and it went back together as easy as it came apart. I recommend watching the video first if you have never done this. Good Luck

front cover then lint basket replace brackets and shoes

Very easy repair. I took off the bottom fromt panel with a nut driver. Then I took off the face/door panel. Take note of the wires that need to come off by marking them with a sharpie or tape. The top of the dryer can be stood up to allow access to the ductwork that has the felt pad on it. The felt pad was worn through in spots, the drum glide was completely gone and both cylinder glide brackets were almost completely worn through. I just replaced the brackets and the pads. The old felt came off fairly easily. I scraped the old glue for the felt off with a knife and cleaned and dried the surface before applying the hi temp adhesive. I waited 1 minute while the glue became tacky (be careful, the glue starts out thin and tends to run) and the felt pad was easily put back in place with my wife's help. Everything was very simple and it cost $87.00 for parts and shipping. I felt that this should be a good investment since I have had no other problems with this dryer and this is normal wear and tear. Better than paying $600+ for a new dryer. The video for changing the felt pad was very detailed and easy to follow as well.

Thanks to this website we were able to not only find the parts, but a video that told us how to take the dryer apart. Unfortunately, between the time we diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts, and they arrived, the drum had worn into the front bulkhead. We were able to file the sharp parts dull and install the brackets, felt pads, and drum glides along with the felt seal, but ended up breaking the dryer door switch. Once that came in, it has been working. I'm not sure how long the repair will last, but it was much better than buying a new one.

disassembled found bunch of worn out parts . I went to website wich was very helpful found all . my worn out parts online. dryer is very quiet now I wish i would have done it sooner.P.S. going to fix my dads dryer next. thank you

removed front cover and top took drum out remove heating unit replced limit switch and fuse reinstalled installed new idler put new belt around drum installed drum replaced glides put top back on and front cover . then replaced boosting heater witch is on the blower also cycling thermostat
