Left hinge pin & hinge sheared
Hving read some of the tips in regards to this repair I set out with equal parts of confidence & apprehension. The advice of shifting the tub toward the hinge to be removed is in itself the key to the whole procedure. After having done so & wedging a dust pan handle between the tub & frame to first one side & then the other, I removed the entire lid with the hinge & hinge pin assys. attached as ther is not sufficient clearance to slide a servicable hinge pin from a hinge when only one hinge has beeen removed. With the lid completely removed access to the hinge pin(s) is straight forward. I suggest screwing & unscrewing the fastening screw into a new hinge assy before mounting the hinge onto the machine & also using an offset philips screwdriver or ,as I did, a 1/4" drv. ratchet with a #2 philips apex bit which allows for a better feel & more control over the upside down blind operation of removing & replacing the fastening screw into the hinge assy. Hope this helps. Tom

Broken lid hinge
short drive, 90 degree, "star" driver. push tub to side and back to reach lower part of old hinge, remove single screw. (careful not to drop it into the "mechanics" of the tub.) repeat for the other side. remove parts from lid. reassemble new parts onto lid, along with lower hinge parts. secure the lower hinge to door part(s) with masking tape to hold in place. hold lid in place over lower hinge screw holes and start screws by hand. snug up the screws and your done! the 'STAR" screws may be relpaced with similar "phillips" so you wont have to scrounge for a "star" driver the next time.

Lid hinge pin had broken
I replaced both the pin and the hinge. The old screws did not fit these parts nor did either of the parts fit the other part although they were almost identical. Screws should be included with the parts as these are supposed to be replacements. Do not try to order only a pin or a hinge without the other. Delivery was very quick.

Washer lid became detached
I lifted top portion of the washer after removing rear attachment screws to obtain access to lid hinge and mounting pins. I unscrewed the broken hinges and pins and installed the new ones.
I believe I could have avoided removing the rear attachement screws by sliding a screw driver or flat pry bar under the front panel and lifted the front panel up. The job would have taken much less time.

Broken hinge pin
I followed the feed back in the forum from a previous repair. I popped open the top of the Washing and propped it open @ approx. 70 degrees, moved the Tub out of the way and used a small Phillips Scwdrvr to remove the broken part, installing the new parts was a snap, I took the time to use a Q-Tip and petroleum jelly to coat the pin and hinge making it easier and less binding when opening the lid.

Due to aging of the plastic, the hinge pins snapped and the lid came loose.
Once the machine was unplugged, I used the paint scraper to release the top of the washer by inserting it at right front and left front about two inches from the sides. The spring clip's were released and the top swung back on the rear clips . The lid hinges were exposed , removed and replaced with the the screws from the original parts, "as they do not" come with the replacement parts. "Replacing first one side" then taking the lid and replacing the parts (pivot parts) attaching the- 2nd lid hinge piece at this time as they will not go together in any other fashion. Snap thewasher top down to close. I would suggest spraying a little silicon spray occaisonally, to avoid the parts failing prematureily. All told about 20 min. to do the job. Don't forget to plug in the washer!

I had a broken hinge that caused the lid to come off every time we used washer.
I had to pop the top of the washer which is hinged in back. Raised it up and removed old hinges. replaced "hinges and hinge pins. It works like new. Thanks for your "website". It was very easy finding the parts I needed. Sincerely Bill Hines

Lid hinge broken
I popped the clips on both sides of the top with the putty knife. Raised the lid. Unscrewed the one screw on the old hinge. Screwed on the new.
It took a PhD in hinge replacement to do this.

Wash machine top would not open or close properly
First replace the hinge but realized it was actually the hinge pin thar was broken. So we replaced the hinge pin and the hinge on both sides and it works like new. It was only necessary to replace the right hinge pin, but we replaced everything since I had already ordered the parts. Check hinge pin first.

Lid hinge pin broke in half
Easy to remove broken part. Found rust, so after cleaning I applied paint (I let dry overnight).
By manipulating the washer drum, moving left and right, the screws were easy to get to. However, to get the screws back in took tightening by strong hands. Plus, found that the lid sensor had worn out, so that was adjusted.
New screws would probably make the job easier.
All is fantastic and I found it was "easy" to replace with finishing help from strong hands.
