Torn lint filter

1. Removed old lint filter by sliding it out
2. Installed new lint filter by sliding it in

The nature of the part makes this "repair" very easy.

I'd also like to comment on dealing with PartSelect. Web site is excellent and service was even better. Ordered item late on a Thursday and I had it in hand by Saturday. Shipping is pricey but at least I got what I paid for... Delivery could not have been better or quicker. 5 stars!

Dryer filter screen broken

I didn't think it would fit as it looked bigger then the old one, I called the service department and they were very helpful. They made note of the fact that I had called with questions in case I had to call again, but it worked, and no one laughed at me. It was very nice of them. Thank you for all the help

Dryer was exhibiting high clunking tendencies

had done belt exchange before so it was not a new drill...this time belt was *not* broken and probably wouldn't need to have been changed...bearings (they're a wheel- like in much the same way as are those wheels on the Chilian rescue capsule) seem to spin free but tumbler does not turn quietly

still drys clothes ok but imagine it is providing these noises as a clue to it's pending demise

the new lint filter works good, however

The door latch had broken, and it was time for a new lint filter.

The directions for the door latch kit told you to take the front of the washer apart to remove the old latch. But in my case the latch was broken in such a way that was not necessary. The new part just popped into place! No more fridge magnets holding the door closed!!!

And the new lint filter is great, the old one was so gunked up with old lint it was becoming difficult to clean.

I don't really know how old my dryer is, I purchased it used about 3 years ago.

Original lint filter had started to rip and was not trapping lint

First finding the replacement part for this older model was extremely easy with schematics on line and part identification. There was no repair, just 30 seconds to take old lint filter that was at least 20 years old replaced with new one; perfect replacement fit!
Thanks
P.S. Really impressed with time to respond to the online order placement, it took less than 3 days! Great!

Door handle on dishwasher broke, worn filter on dryer

First off, I have to give credit to PartSelect.com for fast delivery. I had the parts two days after I ordered them.

The repair was very quick and easy. There are about 10 Torx head screws holding the inner panel to the door so I decided to use an electric drill to remove and put them back. I put the proper size Torx driver into my portable electric drill and removed all of the screws in less than 2 minutes. The door latch assembly is secured with two of those door screws, so it was already loose when I lifted the panel away from the door. All I had to do was unplug the two wire harness's from the old switch, replace with a new switch and plug them back in. The door panel went back on easily and quickly with the electric drill. My drill has a built-in torque adjuster so I set it to lightly secure the screws which made the job go fast.

The lint filter was just a replacement for an older one on the cloths dryer that had developed holes in it. Perfect fit.

The lint filter had a hole in it.

I pulled out the old filter and put in the new one. That's the only "repair" I've had to do on our Maytag dryer since we got it 20 years ago. I was happy to find the filter after all these years.

Squealling clothes dryer.

Undid two screws in lower front of dryer and popped off front. Removed screws holding lint screen duct and brackets supporting tumbler and removed duct and tumbler quite easily. Pulled, cleaned and oiled rear rollers, replaced front glides, and thoroughly cleaned exhaust duct of lint. Put new belt into position on the roller before sliding tumbler back in, then pulled belt over tumbler as it went in. Be careful to follow belt path directions correctly.
Key to this repair was obtaining the parts so easily from Parts Select.com. Ordered at 2pm and had them 2pm the following day. Unbelievable! These machines are relatively simple to keep running when the parts are available so easily. Thanks for great service.

Previous lint filter was totally worn out.

I needed a lint filter for a Maytag Dryer which was purchased in 1977 by my mother and dad. The previous filter was completely worn out and frayed due to being used for 35 years. I was not at all optimistic that I could find a lint filter for a dryer this old. However, after doing a search on the internet I did locate this needed filter through PartSelect.com. Needless to say I was thrilled to be able to locate this.

Worn belt, torn filter, lint cleaning

Firstly, and I can't emphasize this enough; I went on Utube and found a video as to how to do the belt replacement on this exact Model. Then with the help of my wife, we just proceed step by step. We took digital photos of the electrical hook-up to be sure to reassemble to electrical correctly; as well as the capstan/idler belt threading. Getting the new belt on to the drive capstan was the hardest part. I loop it over the drum while it was pulled out about 6". I then reached through the drum to tread it around the capstan/idler. Then I moved the drum into place, and SLOWLY wound the drum by hand CW 2 turns, to give the capstan a chance to do the final alignment of the belt/drum. No problemo!
