I decided to replace the entire agitator. The Dispenser, Agitator, and the screw had already come off when it broke. All I had to do was pull/slide the base off the motor. Then I slid the new base in place, slid the agitator on top of the base. I then screwed in the retention screw (which was probably the hardest part due to the small access). After that I snapped on the Softener Dispenser and I was done.
Popped off bleach cap on top then got socket and long extension removed bolt, cleaned a little then replaced new agitater top.Replaced bleach cap and i was done.
Removed one bolt, main thing was I had to buy a 10 inch extension for the socket and wrench to reach inside of the agitator, pulled the old one off replaced the new one tighten the bolt and I was done. 10 minutes start to finish.
Pretty simple repair--popped the fabric softener cup off of the agitator top and took out the bolt that secures it to the assembly. Removed the broken agitator top, replaced with the new one and reinstalled the bolt and softener cup. EZ as pie for only $24 including shipping! Great price! Fabulous turnaround time from www.partselect.com. I had the problem corrected inside of 4 days using standard shipping. I will definitely do business with them again!
Removed bolt that held old agitator in, removed it and replaced with new agitator.
We removed the top fabric softner cup from the broken agitator top, and then used the socket and extention to remove the nut. We removed the broken agitator and replaced it with the new one. We then tightened the nut and replaced the softner cup.
The fabric softner dispenser just snapped on and the agitator was connected by one screw. Very easy to replace, less than five minutes.
The Screw holding top agitator fell off. Which cause the wings to get caught on clothes in the washer, which then cause the wings to break off. I removed the soap dispenser from the broken top which took the most time. It seem to be struck. I run very hot water over it and was able to pull it off. I am not very handy but I was able to get the new part and install it in less than 20 minutes. The most important tool need is a extender 10" for a ratchet screw driver or wrench so you can get the screw that holds the agitator in place. very easy to do and probably save hundred dollars or more by getting part and installing myself.
