No power on washing machine
I removed the rear panel using a phillip screwdriver and a small wrench. I located the lid switch and popped it loose (no tools needed) and put the new one in. Power came back on washing machine.

Washer would not run without opening and closing lid several times.
Replaced lid switch assembly. Unplug washer. The console on this washer can be removed without sliding the washer from the wall. Just lean over the drum. Three phillips screws along the top, two machine screws removable using a small socket. Move the console forward to view the lid switch in the middle. Disconnect switch plug. Pop lid switch and plunger out. (Both part of lid switch assembly.) Replace. Connect plug to switch. (Could plug washer in and test at this point. Unplug.) Reassemble.

Washer wouldn't start with lid closed as it should
First, removed two phillips screws that hold instrument cluster in place.
Second, slid instrument cluster off washer.
Third, removed washer lid.
Third, removed faulty switch, removed guide tube and plunger.
Replaced switch, guide tube and plunger.
Removed old and replaced new lid cam.
Reassembled lid and instrument cluster.

Lid switch had went out.
I removed the rear panel of the washer, and removed the lid switch assembly. Then, replaced the old one with the new lid switch and plunger. Put the rear panel back on the washer, and started washing clothes again!!!!!! I think a monkey could have done it....

Slammed lid and broke lid switch
it took a little longer to fix the lid switch becasue the you have to figure out how to install the switch after you takethe old one out. The old one popped out but the new one needs some twisting and pressure. It also is an ackward position to work in on the back of the washer front the front. I think the instructions could have been much better by warning the installer to pay attention when you take the old one out. But it worked and we fixed the problem for $22 and four days of waiting for the part.

Machine would not operate with lid down.
Disconnected power. Then I removed the cover to the console on the back to gain access to the lid switch. Removed the switch assembly by hand and disconnected from electrical plug on machine. Attached new assembly unit to plug and reinserted new assembly onto machine. Reattached cover to console.

Washer shut down while filling w/ lid up
I did a continuity check on the lid switch assembly since it was a) the easist to get to, and b) my wife's descreiption of how rthe washer stopped made me think it had something to do with the lid switch.
I found that all of the contacts were open regardless of the position of the switch, and I also discovered that there was a fuse inside the swithch. I decided to order a replacement part based on the presence of the fuse.
Upon repacling the fuse (a snap in affair), the washer was working again... my wife was impressed and I was happy!

Washer dead after unbalanced load
Unplugged washer, turned off water supply,Removed the screws in back of console. removed. back plate, unplugged lid switch from console. removed screws holding console to frame of machine. Removed lid by prying the bottom corners out freeing the hinge ball on either side. unscrewed the lid switch from the frame of machine. installed the new plunger screwed into place aligned with lid switch snapped new switch in place, plugged in to console. put screws back into console and put back plate back on turn water supply on plugged in washer started washer which is now working . and the repair guy who never showed up wanted to charge me 50. diagnostic fee when I told him itwas the switch. it cost me less than 50 for all the parts. if you can read you can do

Switch not correctly mounted by the previous technician.
Switch material hardened due to old age & broke easily when force fitted. Ordered parts online & in two business day it arrived.
First open the lid & removed the side latch with screw driver carefully. Checked the length of the new plunger with the old one with respect to length & compare the stroke. Slide fit the switch & rectified the play in the plunger pusher with super glue.

The washer did not start. The only thing that would work was the fascet switch would add water.
I opened up the control panel on the back by removing the 4 screws and then used the print that was inside to check where the power went from the power cord. I checked the power at diferent places and determined that I did not have power coming from the lid switch with the door up or down. You could here the switch click when you opened and closed the door but aperantly it was not working. After going on your web site and looking at the other posts I realixed that there was a fuse link in the switch that was probably blown. I ordered the switch and it was a simple matter to replace when it arrived. The washer works great once more.

Washer would not do anything.
Took off the top rear off the washer, Removed the top control section,disconnected the wire harness, snaped out the old switch and installed the new one, connected the wire harness, put everything back together, and it was working again!

No water fill ,close the lid machine does not work
just unplug the power , disconnect the wire from lid switch ,slide the lid switch assembly out off the switch housing . Then reverse the action I just did above and the machine work again.

It was not working
iremove the two screws that is on the lid and then ipulled that out then secound step remove the part is on the back were is the suit of the washer machine were is the hoses of the water hot and cold its berry easy to do it your self thank you

removed control pannel, traced current flow to lid switch,in but not through, shorted power in to motor lead machine started, ordered switch, received switch, installed new switch, washed clothes.

Washer started/then stopped and wouldn't start again
Took the back plate off, popped the old lid switch out and the new one in. Very easy. No problems, saved $100 buck at least doing it myself.
