How can I open the cover to replace this part?

Hi Adrienne, Thank you for your question. We do not have any information for this part specifically however here is a general video that will show you how to remove the top: https://youtu.be/zFTUxHgxlFs . It is generally very similar to take off the tops of most top load washers. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Hello Eric, thank you for contacting us. This could be due to either a faulty Timer part number PS11739312 or Water Inlet Valve part number PS11739275 for your model. I hope this helps and good luck with your repair!

The washer fills and then turns off before agitation starts. It will not rinse and will not spin either. The water will not drain. What do you think might be the problem?

This is a very old Whirlpool dryer and it began to overheat, shutoff, and had black smoke coming from the back of the dryer towards the top. I was not sure if it was an electrical fire or the heating element. I took most of the sides off of the dryer and removed the heating element. I blew off all the old lint throughout the dryer. I also tested both the heating element (reading of 10.0) and the thermostat (.4 reading). I believe that the problem will be in the switch for as soon as I turn the knob from "off" to a timed drying setting the dryer turns on without having to push the start button. Note: This dryer has done this for years, but I never had a problem until now. Now the dryer will turn on but after 20-25 minutes it would shut off. I kept an eye on the heating element and the coils would heat up and go out periodically as the dryer was going through its cycle. I believe that it may be a switch problem for I have looked at the wires to the switch and do not see any burnt wires. Your thoughts please?

Hello Marcus, Thanks for your question. You may also want to check the venting to make sure it is not clogged with anything. The switch or fuse could be the problem. Check the cycling thermostat as well with a multimeter for continuity and replace it if it shows no continuity. I hope this helps.
