The lid switch kit is an assembly for replacing your washer lid switch. The function of this part is to detect if your washer lid is open or closed. If it detects that it is open it will prevent the washer from rotating and agitating until it is closed. This kit includes the bracket, actuator, switch, screws, and wire harness. To complete this installation, you will need a number two Phillips screwdriver, and a 5/16 nut driver. Before beginning this repair, make sure the power supply to your washer is disconnected. In order to install this part, you will need access to the rear of the unit.

Washer won't spin but will fill and agitate is this my problem lid switch

Hello Donald, thank you for your question. If the unit will function in every other function but agitate the most likely issue is the lid switch. I would recommend replacing this part to see if it fixes the issue. Per your model, the lid switch is Lid Switch Kit 12001187. Good luck with your repair!

Machine operates as soon as water gets to the level needed with the lid open.Could this be a defective lid switch?

Washer begins spinning, but water comes out slowly. Water then comes out forcefully after lifting, then immediately lowering lid. I though the problem was the lid switch, which I replaced from Partselect, but the problem persists. Any suggestions would be appreciated?

Hello Lorenzo, Thank you for the question. We suggest testing the Water Inlet Valve. Set your multitester to the R X 1 ohms setting to test for continuity. Place each of the multitester's leads on a terminal. Your multitester should display a reading between 200 and 500 ohms. Closely examine your water inlet valve. The exact ohm resistance rating you should test for may be marked on the valve. We hope this helps!

My washer machine stopped working when I pulled out the knob to begin the washing machine. I am not sure what is wrong? It seems like the lid is engaging but there is no power.

Thanks for your question. The exact parts needed may vary from model to model, but there are a few general parts we can recommend. The lid switch, start switch, timer, drive motor, and main control board should be tested with a multimeter for continuity. Replace them if they fail electrical continuity. Examine the door strike as well for any signs of damage and replace it if needed.
