Anger motor died about a year ago, ice maker just quit so replaced both
The auger motor died because two of the screws attaching it had come loose so the motor wasn't properly aligned. Wasn't sure from diagram which was the right screw so ordered two different ones from the parts diagram.
PartSelect videos helped, watched several times until I felt comfortable. Pulled old icemaker first then removed assembly with anger motor, replaced motor per video and put assembly back in. Put new icemaker in and was done is a little over 30 minutes.

The ice maker won't make ice except when it is reset, then it will make a few ice cubes only. It seems like the ice maker does not sensing the call for more ice and that the bin is empty

Hello Christine, thank you for your question. If the unit isn't making enough ice, and not cycling as it should the icemaker itself should be replaced. The part number for the icemaker is Part Number: PS1518113. Good luck with your repair!

Ice is produced into the bin, but when I press “cube ice”, the panel LEDs flash and then they go out, the flapper door does not open, the auger does not turn, and no ice is dispensed. The panel lights come back on when I release the button. I have replaced the auger motor, flapper door solenoid & the interface/control panel, but still no ice dispensing. What could the problem be?
For model number PSH23PSTASV

Hi Robert, Thank you for your question. If it appears you are getting only crushed ice from the dispenser and not cubed, check the following: • It is normal to get a slight amount of crushed or broken ice cubes before or while dispensing cubed ice. This is most common after crushed ice was used and you then select cubes. The remaining chips in the crusher blades or the bottom of the bucket get picked up as cubed ice is dispensing. • When cubed ice is selected, dispensing cubes requires energizing a lever behind the ice bucket to open a flap and allow whole cubes to come out. If an ice cube gets behind the ice bucket, this can prevent the lever from working. Remove the ice bucket and check for ice that may have fallen behind the bucket. • If no ice cubes are behind the bucket, try to dispense ice with the bucket removed. Shut the door, press the ice dispenser and listen for a loud snapping noise. If no snap is heard service will be needed. If you hear a snap, reinsert the bucket and try Cubed ice again. If still no cubes, then check for frozen ice in the bucket. To remove and check the ice bucket: 1. Pull the ice bin out by lifting it up in front and sliding it forward. 2. Check for and remove clumped or shaved ice in the bin. 3. If ice remains, run the bin under warm water until the ice melts completely. Dry the bin thoroughly. 4. Reinstall the ice bin by pushing it all the way back against the freezer wall. 5. Allow time for Icemaker to cycle again – to make cubes. 6. Select CRUSHED ICE and then CUBED ICE. 7. Try the dispenser again Here is a link from our website that you may reference if this is not this issue, https://www.partselect.com/Repair/Refrigerator/Not-Dispensing-Ice/. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My ice maker auger motor has gotten really loud recently. Do you think it's time to replace it or could it be something else ?
For model number DSS25KSRDSS
PartSelect logo
Hi Doug, thank you for reaching out. Over time, ice and frost can build up in the icemaker, which can cause it to vibrate and make noise. We would suggest cleaning the ice maker. If it is not the case, you may need to replace the ice maker bucket & auger assembly, part number PS783770, to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!

Is the auger motor able to rotate freely or is the shaft fixed when motor is off
For model number DSS25KSRDSS
PartSelect logo
Hello William, thank you for your question. When the ice bucket is installed into the freezer and the motor is off, the auger should not move freely. If it is moving inside the bucket when the bucket is mounted in the freezer we would recommend checking the Ice Dispensing Drive Cup Part Number: PS964134 and the DRIVE AUGER DISP Part Number: PS963341. I hope this helps!
