Old ice-maker went south
If a 74 year old guy can install an ice-maker in a 20 + year old fridge in 20, or so, minutes it must have had good pictures and BIG PRINT. Working quite well at this time!

Ice maker gave out after 20 years
TURN WATER OFF TO REFRIDGE. TURN OFF ELECTRICITY.
Remove old ice maker (AFTER REMOVING THE BIG ICE TRAY) by disengaging two philips head screws but don't totally unscrew them. You must then totaly unscrew the bottom screw below the top two screws. Unplug the 5 head connection. (electricity)
Use adapter for the electrcity, etc from the box, (five head connection) Use the old plastic hose to hit the new cup. TIGHTEN TOP SREWS. LEVEL BY EYE. Turn the system on. Prime with some fresh water.
PS make sure that the light is on (green) and you will be in ice city. Be careful not to disengage the elcectic head when replacing the big ice tray.

Take out old ice maker and replace with new
Used the nutdriver to loosen two screws, life out ice maker, disconnect electric plug and put aside. Placed the new icemaker on the loosened screws, plugged in electric connector and tightened screws. Used small level to verify that unit was level.Waited about two hours for first cubes to be released into tray - has been working fine since!

Ice maker didn't work.
Replaced icemaker assembly. Only 3 Phillips screws to remove the old assembly. Pretty much an exact swap. Was easy to replace but the connecting cable on the new replacement assembly wasn't very easy to make fit. Had to force it into a location that would be out of the way and allow everything to operate properly. That connecting cable should be more flexible and adapt to the fridge a little more friendly.

Icemaker quit making ice.
The parts were here the next day. After removing the old ice maker it was a simple installation using the adapter cord furnished. It took about 15 minutes. You have to work with the cord some to get it to fit behind the ice maker, but it does fit. The ice maker started up immediately & works great.

Needed new ice maker
Video is a great but still need to read the instuctions because there are parts you may need on the old ice maker. Saved myself a bit of money by not having to call a repairman. The process was very simple. I am glad I did it myself. Thank you Parts Select!

Stopped making ice
The video on the site was very helpful. The repair was really easy. It was exactly the way the video showed how to do it. I would definitely use this site again to find parts, figure out the "how-to", and use for skematics of appliances. Thanks.

Ice maker stopped making ice
I had made a dry run at the repair after watching the instructional film provided by part select and it seemed easy enough. The only problem was that i needed to use the electrical cord extender (provided) to adapt to my plug type. That presented a problm because it needed to be tucked up out of the way to allow the ice bin to clear. Just needed to be creative in how you wrapped the cord behind the ice maker unit before snugging the attachment screws. Cranking out ice like crazy.

No ice
REplaced old icemaker with a new one. Install simple, However that was not the problem. I then replaced the water valve. Still no ice. I check the electric connection was OK. THe problem was the elbow fitting on the top back of the refrigerater leading to the icemaker was blocked with ice.Cleared it and turned water faucet up all the way. Ice maker worked.

We can't seem to get the dripping water stopped when the water fills the ice maker. The large hole in the plastic we covered, but it still drips some. So we may try epoxy. An easy job we thought, but we have this water problem.
A friend had no problem getting the new ice maker in. But then the problems started. The ice maker works great. But when the water fills the ice maker it squirts water onto the side of the freezer and ice sickles form. So we watched and decided the hole was too large so used a piece of plastic. That helped to cover the hole. But some water is still entering the freezer and not all going to the ice maker. The only other thing we can think to try is to use epoxy to try to close that place. A simple job has turned into a big headache. I wish they made the ice maker like the original one.

Ice maker quit working, I took it apart and found a broken wire at the thermostat, soldered it back, but apparently it got too hot.
It took longer to remove the ice bucket and frozen food than it did to replace the ice maker. Remove one screw with a 1/4" nut driver, slide outward and remove plug. transfer water tube to new unit. plug it in, slide into rear slots and install one screw. Replace ice bucket and frozen food, shut the door and hear ice falling in about 30 min. Easy job! Great product! THANKS MJS
