Kitchenaid stand mixer would get stuck (stripped gear)
First I removed the screws that hold the silver band and the top of the mixer (cover). I removed the cover. I then removed the 4 screws that hold the gear housing and removed the housing. I removed the worm gear and removed the bearings and the washer from the "old" worm gear and put them on the replacement worm gear. I took gear grease from the cracked housing and packed the replacement gear with this grease. I attached the gasket to the replacement housing. I placed the attachment gear into the replacement housing and placed the housing over the gear assembly. I then put the mixer back together and ran it for a few minutes to dispurse the gear grease. I just mixed up some bread dough and everything seems to be in working order. I have never done this before so I hope it will continue to function properly.

Plastic gear housing breaking
Very happy to find that the new gear housing was metal, not plastic. The whole problem was poor design of plastic to hold metal gears. Removed housing held down by four screws, removed two gears that were damaged. Retaining ring was difficult to remove from retaining slot. New gears replaced the old ones, new retaining ring put in place, new grease packed into all gearing, new stronger metal housing put in place and the Kitchenaid industrial mixer is better than new. Very happy with the parts I purchased.

Mixer does not mix 4 cups of flour with 6 eggs very easily
sat on the kitchen table and with a screwdriver started to disasemble the mixer, hardest part was taking snap ring off (easy after you buy snap ring pliers)as gears were lifted off noticeable wearing was present on all parts. the bearing housing on the gearcase was broken lose, the only major expense. the other parts are not expensive so i decided to renew all parts. glad i did felt proud of myself when job was done. would do it again Joe

Gears were stripped and mixer would not mix
This was easy once Igot all the parts. The mxer wouldn't mix and when I opened it up the drive gear between the motor and the planetary drive was missing some teeth. Turns out the bearing, which was sintered bronze, had broken so I needed a new gear, new bearing, and the jumping gear had broken the housing so I needed a new housing. The new gearing ( really a bushing since there are no rollers or balls in the "bearing") waws now steel and the molded plastic housing is now cast metal. Some new grease ( I had to buy a quart can of grease to get two tablespooons) a new gasket and put the screws in and we're back in business. Total repair time 10 minutes, total time to get all the parts 3 weeks,

Bevel gear, bearings and housing replacement
The parts I received from PartSelect were higher quality than the original parts. The bevel gear and housing were originally plastic. The new ones are solid metal. The machine sounds and runs better than it ever did. The drawings from the website made this really easy. This will be my first choise for parts from now on.

Mixer blade stopped moving. Motor was working.
Removed the top housing. Visual inspection revealed a cracked gear housing. Removed the 4 screws to remove the housing. Removed the gear retaining clip and inspected the gears and pin. The housing was the only problem. Noticed the plastic housing locating pins were missing and were stuck in the bottom aluminum housing pin receptacles. Carefully drilled out and cleaned debris. Installed the new gear housing with gasket. Tested the machine then replaced the top housing.
