GROMMET

Removed old gasket. The bottom of the gasket was decaying on each side of door. Cleaned out the gasket groove on the tub. Fitted new gasket without problem, making certain the bottom on each side of door had sufficient gasket material to complete the seal when door was closed. After shutting off power to the unit, I removed the screws holding the door back in place. I disconnected the wire harness to the dispenser latch mechanism. The door back was then placed on the floor with the dispenser mechanism facing up. Removed two screws hold the mechanism in place, lifted it off door and exposed the latch grommet. Remove old grommet, place new one on the latch. Reattched the mechanism, wire harness. Reassembled the door, turned on power and performed a test cycle to check for leakage. No leak, problem solved!

I thought it was the door gasket, but I read on this site to order the dispenser grommet since it may be that (besides, it's relatively cheap). I replaced the door gasket, but sure enough, it still leaked. So I followed the advice on how to replace the grommet I found posted here(it's relatively simple, you just remove the screws on the inner edge of the door and take the inner panel out, but search the other posts for more detail) and the machine's fixed.

Removed the screws holding the inner door panel in place, removed the screws holding the rinse aid dispenser - replaced the latch seal, cleaned the door liner, removed and replaced door seal.

Admired my "door knob"!

It wasn,t the door gasket leaking but the dispenser grommet, although I replaced both of them. I'm glad I read somone else's review because I would'nt have known about the dispenser gasket and would have had the same problem that I started with. Thanks for great service and delivery times!!!

I thought that the door gasket might be the problem but after reading some of the articles on Parts Select web sight, I could see that it might also be the soap dispenser latch grommet and at the cost of the grommet it was well worth replacing that also.

I replaced them both and because I did, I can't say which actually caused the leak but it doesn't leak any more.

I had to make several attempts as follows:1.I replaced the door gasket, still leaked, 2.Replaced the float and micro-switch, still leaked.3.Replaced the insulation inside the door., still leaked. 4. Finally,read your diagnosis info and ordered the gromet. It was delivered in under 24 hours to my Island home!5.Took off the 7 door screws, unscrewed 2 screws that held the latch mechanism, replaced the rotted gromet and Voila! no leak. Once I found the problem, it took 15 minutes

before ordering parts i noticed lower right side of door gasket was missing about 1 inch. when ordering door gasket i thought for the low cost of latch grommet i should order that also....glad i did. pulled out old door gasket, cleaned where new gasket would go and replaced it. tried the washer and when it reached the main wash the leak started again. took the 7 screws out of door removed 2 nuts and replaced the dispenser door latch grommet.....problem solved. dont think because the old grommet looks fine that is not bad. im not a "repair kind of guy " but this was easy and toof 20 min.
