This genuine OEM lid lock and striker is designed for washing machines. The lid lock comes with the wiring harness and striker, which is a small plastic piece attached to the lid of the washing machine. When the lid is closed, the striker aligns with and engages a corresponding latch on the washing machine. The lid lock mechanism prevents the washer from starting or operating while the lid is open. This is important for safety reasons, as opening the lid during operation could lead to injuries or damage to the machine. If the lid lock mechanism is damaged or faulty, the lid will be unable to lock and the washer may not start, or it may stop running mid cycle. It is important to address any faults promptly to avoid further damage or safety hazards.

Washer is not draining or doing a spin cycle. Lock is broken. Going to start here and check pump during repair. Am I on the right track?
For model number GTW335ASN2WW
Hello Erik, thank you for the question. Yes, you are on the right track. Lid switches and door locks are also common culprits of why our washer will not drain or spin properly. We would recommend replacing the lid lock assembly, part number PS16619254, to fix the issue. We hope this helps, good luck with the repair!

My lid lock kept clicking and the water drained after awhile. It will fill and drain but will not agitate or spin. Took the agitator off and cleaned the scum off the dogs. The agitator will move slightly. I got the machine used but it had not been used much at all. Almost like brand new. It did not come with the manual or codes. What could the problem be? I am thinking the lid lock.

Hello Theodore, thank you for your inquiry. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend checking the lid lock first for any fault. If it is fine, then the issue is most probably with the mode shifter, part number PS16554752. It shifts the washer drive system between agitation and spin modes. We hope this solves your problem!
