Dryer wouldn't heat
This was the first time I ever attempted such a repair on an appliance, but it was fairly easy once I figured out how to take the front of the dryer off! I was almost certain that the igniter was the problem was it didn't glow like it did before. On this particular LP Gas dryer from Maytag there is a little service door on the front near the floor. It is almost impossible to get your arm in there plus still have room to shine light in! I took off the two screws at an angle down near the floor and the whole front came off. I used a mini socket wrench to disconnect the igniter. I didn't have to remove the screw as the part slips on over the screw, then you just tighten the screw, connect the cable and it worked perfectly! Thanks PartSelect! As for the lint filter...the original has been broken for probably close to 10 years. It was just a matter of slipping the new one in.

Broken lint filter screen frame
This is hardly a "repair". You toss out the old lint screen and put the new one in. The hardest part was getting the lint screen out of the plastic bag it came in...
ta da it is done...

Drum dragging and squeaking loudly.
Disconnected the dryer, removed the front cover, front drum support, and the entire drum (30 min.). Completely cleaned all lint and debris from inside the dryer (30 min.). Installed the new tumbler roller shafts and drum support rollers (20 min.). Installed the new drive belt (30 min.). Re-assembled and re-connected the dryer and ran to verify operation (30 min.). The dryer runs like new. I found I didn't need the front glide kit , as I replaced the glides a couple years ago and they were in excellent condition. All in all, the parts, service and instructions were outstanding. I will use PartSelect whenever I need to repair my appliances from now on.
