Hi, i'll like to know how to perform a thermostat test please. Thank you
For model number FRS6HR45KS4

Hello Luis, thank you for contacting us. Test the thermostat for continuity using a multi-tester set to the ohms setting X1. Start by testing the thermostat out of the freezer when it has come up to room temperature. If the thermostat has two wires, touch one probe to each wire. You should get a reading of infinity. Chill the thermostat in the freezer for about twenty minutes and retest. This time you should get a reading of zero (continuity). If the thermostat has three wires, number them 1, 2 and 3. Test combinations 1 & 2, 1 & 3 and 2 & 3 and write down the results. Two of the combinations should yield a reading of infinity and one should yield a reading of zero. Now chill the thermostat in the freezer for about twenty minutes and retest. The combination that had a zero reading before, should now have a reading of infinity. One of the two other combinations should now yield a zero reading. If the thermostat fails this test, it should be replaced. Good luck with the repair!

Freezer cold but does not freezer or produce ice? What could be wrong?
For model number Phls67egsb2

Hi Donna, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Defrost Thermostat Kit. The best way to do this is to remove the thermostat from the refrigerator so you can control the temperature of the sensor. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps!

Ice maker wont dispense water to make ice. If I pour water into the tray-mold the ice will freeze but no new water will come into the tray. I have change the value inlet but still not getting water to the tray.

Hello Joseph, Thank you for the question. The next thing to check is the water lines and make sure they have not froze over and are blocking the water. If the lines are clear, you may need to replace the Ice Maker as it may not be calling or sending the signal for more water from the Valve. We hope this helps!
