The temperature sensor detects the temperature within the oven cavity. If there is a limited amount of heat, it is not heating evenly, or the oven will not start, this might indicate that your temperature sensor requires a replacement. If you are working with your oven this part is found on the right side when facing the back of the oven. This part is can be found in a range, wall oven, and microwave-oven. You will need to remove the panel located on the back of the oven, unplug the sensor, remove the screw, and pull the sensor out. The new one slides into place.

Oven would kick off after preheating to temp.
Sensor very accessible. Pull off the back panel, disconect the sensor and slide out from back of oven. The original plug was cut off the sensor, as well as the new one to get the proper connector type on the new sensor. Soldered and heat shrink, and presto we had our new sensor ready for install. heating element was cracked, oven would not heat.
I used a small wrench, It was very easy to remove. once I removed the screws and disconnected the plugs from heating element then had to remove the back cover of stove so i could plug in new element. but was very easy. I am a single woman and was worried that it would be difficult to change. it only took me 20 minutes.
Above 400 beeper went off & code numbers came up on read out
Cut off power at fuse panel. pulled stove out from wall went behind stove removed back panels in area of sensor that I could see from the front side, inside oven. Located sensor from rear & unpluged senser from wiring bundle reached inside oven & removed screws from sensor. Pulled sensor out & threaded wire through hole. Took old & new

Twisted wire together & soldered connection, used shrink wrap to insulate wire. Took part inside and reinstalled in reverse order. Used 1/4 inch nutdriver on total job start to finish.

oven temp was not right
We removed the old part and replaced it then when warming the oven all of a sudden there was a loud noise and something went and so we called a repair man which I guess we should of done in the first place. Now he has ordered a part that cost 170 soo that is my story don't try to repair if you don't have experience.

Getting no power to baking element. Hoping this will correct the problem

Hi Ken, Thank you for the question. The sensor helps maintain the oven temperature and does not provide the element with power. If there is no power getting to the element and all the wiring is intact, you will need to replace the Electronic Clock/Timer Part Number, PS2581862. This board controls the oven and sends power to the elements. Hope this helps!

Broiler came on while baking a cake....i turned off the oven, and turned it back in 5-10 minutes later, and broiler came on again. i didn’t notice a code being thrown.

Hello Robin, Thank you for your inquiry. While baking, both elements will cycle on and off to provide even heat, but not at the same time. Usually the bake element will come on first, then go off, then the broil element will come on for a few seconds, then go off. If both elements are coming on at the same time, we would recommend checking the broil element, the wires going to the element, the temperature sensor, the convection motor and fan and the oven control board. You can test the parts with a multimeter. Hope this helps!

Oven will not heat on bake, but broil element will work as well all top burners. Tested thermostat in oven and got 1070 resistance. Tested element and have continuity. All wiring looks good and no burn outs. Turned the oven on and tested to make sure the wire plugs the element were plugging into was sending correct amount of volts and was get 122 volts per side. If i have the oven set for bake and am getting required volts is perhaps the element bad even though it gives continuity. What else would prevent it from not heating up when the element is getting the correct volts when set to bake?

2013 Kenmore electric range i set oven temperture at 350 degrees but on some occasions the temperture does not always go above 260 degrees (happens about 1 in 10 times) the problem is intermitent and just started in september 2019 (the stove was working fine for 6 years with no issue) ...the issue does not happen every time. please provide any advise ...thank you ...bernie ,.

When using the bake function, the oven top element stays on well beyond the selected temp. The oven temp sensor is pn 318087500 and discontinued is there a replacement or Generic temp sensor that can be used simple to splice into the wiring harness. Thx

If the oven is not heating correctly, then the issue is likely with the oven sensor, sometimes called the oven thermostat, and you will need to check it with a multimeter. When testing the sensor with a multimeter, the sensor should be tested at room temperature and it should be unplugged from the oven. You will need to measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. Replace the oven sensor if the reading is less than 900 Ohms or more than 1200 Ohms. My Frigidaire gas range seems to heat consistently less than what I set it up for. For example if I set it up for 400 degrees it would heat up around 365-375 degrees. I have replaced the igniter, but it still does not reach the set temperature. Cake and bread are always mushy inside. Should I replace the heat sensor? Trying to set up 25-30 degrees above every time does not work either. Thank you!
