"paddle" on ice actuator broke off.

Slide off drip tray at bottom of ice/water compartment.

Remove the 3 screws along bottom edge of face plate. Slide face plate upwards slightly to disengage tabs holding top of face plate to fridge door. Pull face plate slightly away from fridge, reach behind plate, and disconnect wiring harness. Set face plate aside.

Remove 3 screws holding ice/water actuator mechanism to fridge door. Disconnect wiring harness on left side of actuator mechanism. This allows the left side of mechanism to swing outwards.

Looking down on top of mechanism, loosen the two screws holding the small, metal retaining plates for ice actuator. (The metal plates hold the ice actuator pivot pins in place in the actuator mechanism). Once the two screws are loosened, the metal plates can be moved to the side to free the ice actuator.

Remove old ice actuator and replace with new actuator. NOTE: Ensure the black ice door flap regulator (the thing with the gear teeth) stays engaged with the gear on the damping mechanism while installing the new ice actuator).

Move the metal retaining plates back in place over the ice actuator pivot pins and tighten both screws. Move the ice/water actuator mechanism back in place and re-connect the wiring harness on the left side. Re-install the 3 screws holding the entire mechanism in place.

Re-connect the wiring harness to the face plate and slide the tabs at the top of the plate into the holes in the fridge door. Slide face plate down and line up the 3 screw holes at the bottom of plate. Re-install the 3 screws. Re-install the drip tray. You're done!

Part of the ice actuator that activates the switch broke off thus not allowing the ice augar to work. By pushing to hard on the actuator trying to get ice we broke a corner off the dispenser module and had to replace it.

Turn off power to refrigerator. Remove dispenser tray and three screws. Lift up on cover and pull away from fridg. Next remove control circuit board, use magnetic screw driver on very small screws. Important to mark all wires and their location before removing. Remove water tube from water actuator by lifting tube out of actuator, you don't have to turn water off. Next remove dispenser module and set next to new dispenser module. Then carefully remove and install parts on new dispenser module. Take your time and besure all parts installed as they were on the old module.

Ice dispenser paddle broke off

Remove power from refrigerator. Pull out the drip tray below paddle. Removed the 3 screws behind tray. Gently pull control panel out and remove the ribbon cable plug from panel. Set panel aside. Remove three screws holding panel housing to door, then pull out housing slightly and disconnect harness plug behind left side of housing. Pull housing out 3-4 inches. Look at the way paddle tabs engage ice dispenser switch mechanism. Remove the left paddle hinge screw and plate and loosen the right hinge screws(these also hold the water paddle hinge) Remove broken paddle by pulling out from right hinge plate and down. Install new paddle under right hinge plate, engage new paddle tabs correctly onto dispenser switch, install left hinge plate and screw, then tighten hinge screws. Reconnect harness plug, reinstall 3 housing to door screws, reconnect ribbon plug to control panel and reinstall panel screws. Reinstall drip tray. Reconnect power to refrigerator and check operation of ice and water paddles.

The ice actuator paddle broke off

This would have been an extremely easy job if the screws behind the catch pan hadn't been rusted.

After pulling the catch pan off, we had to cut a slit for a flathead screwdriver into the heads of the screws and only the middle one came out while the other two heads broke off.

There were two other places for screws (on either side of the middle screw )that weren't being used so when we put it back together we had to drill two holes through the panel that the screws were holding in place and find screws that would fit so we could use the middle screw hole and the two that hadn't previously been used so that when we put it back together it would have some stability.

Replacing the ice actuator was easy and putting it back together was easy.

The descriptions of other repairs for this part were dead-on accurate and very helpful.

Ice acuator difficult to press, lever finally broke off

Hardest part is removing the drip tray. it just pops out with a little prying. I used a putty knife. screw driver should work.
I found it easier to do a total dissasemble.
Remove 3 screws at the bottom of the cover and push up on it. Pull plug of wiring harness of the PC board,
I recomend removing the power from the refrigerator however I done a hot repaire by removing the black and white power wires (Left side)of the board, with a small insulated needle nose remove the other 6 wires make a wiring diagram in order to completely remove PC board (5 small screws) Next remove 3 more larger screws and wiggle the entire assemble from the door.
Two small screws hold small S.S. plates that hold the acuator in place.
Watch and get the levers back in the proper place and put it back together.

Ice actuator broke, also had to replace thin power cable

I read the instructions that came with the ice actuator. I installed it, with no problem, but it didn't work because the ribbon power cable was damaged. I ordered the cable and installed in less than 15 minutes. The ice actuator and water dispenser worked fine.
