This detergent and rinse dispenser with cap may also be known as the dishwasher dispenser assembly and is a part for your dishwasher. The function of this part is to attach to the inside door panel of your dishwasher and hold the dishwasher detergent and rinse in a closed compartment. The manufacturer has redesigned this part and although it may appear different than the original, it will have the same functionality, which is to release the detergent and rinse aid into the dishwasher. To complete this installation, you will need a Phillips screwdriver, and a pair of needle-nose pliers.
This part works with the following brands: Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Kenmore, Tappan & White-Westinghouse.
This part fixes the following symptoms:
Took off all the screws, replaced the dispenser-no problem. However, I couldn't get the top to stay in place long enough to get the screws back in. My boyfriend came over and couldn't get it together without using a longer screw in the top area. Now it works great. The only other problem was my bank and my VISA-they both called me stating my account was being used out of the country. They issued a fraud alert at first, but I called them and told them everything was fine. Linda Florida

We read how others did the repair and my husband had no problem changing it.. . I have a daycare and he had it fixed in a few minute after the kids had lunch and had it in before I could get them all laid down for nap. . . he took off the front door, took ooff the pkug in to the dispenser and took it out, then put the new one in, and hooked up the plug in and put the front cover back on, and it works great!! My dishwasher hasn't worked this good in a long time. I am swo glad I fo9und this web site. Sharon-Indiana
First I unplugged the diswasher, than I unscrewed 4 screws on the inside of the door which pops the door off, unplug two wires, note which one goes where, unscrew 6 screws that holds dispenser in place, than reverse order to install new part. Very easy.
I removed the screws from the inside of the dishwasher door to allow access to the inside of the door. Once the exterior of the door is removed the detergent dispenser is easily removed by disconnecting 6 screws and unplugging two wires from the unit. The new unit slips in and is easily reconnected. Getting the exterior of the door reinstalled is a bit challenging, but once you figure out that the exterior needs to slide up to allow the catches on the door to grab, reinstallation is easy. A second pair of hands makes this easier. The part fits exactly with no modifications necessary.
Unscrew all the scews arround it. Use tape to hold the eletronic panel. Remove the metal cover.Remove the 6 screws around the dispenser. Replace the new one. Put the metal cover back first. Put back the electronic panel at last. Done
Remove the inner door panel, plastic, has 8 screws, unplug the dispenser compartment, and do the reverse. This was very easy. Thanks partselect!!!!!!!
I did not come with directions, but I had gotten them from the Parts Select stories from others. Removed 2 screws from inside door, dropped the front panel, removed the 6 screws holding the dispenser, unplugged the contacts, removed the dispenser and then reversed the process.
