It was simple, I do have extended warranty from AHS, but they charge me a trip charge of $55 per repair, and then all parts and labor is covered. But when I checked with Parts Select the parts costed me about $10, so I decided to do it myself. While I was at it, I also bought other parts and updated my dishwasher with some upgrades.Good place to buy any parts from, they are very helpful, if you do not know your parts. They even had drawings of my dishwasher, and this actually helped me find what kind of other parts I could buy to upgrade my dishwasher.Parts select is on my favorites list and pass it on to all my friends.

First, I had to remove a small metal paper clip that somehow ended up in the bottom of the dishwasher, which jammed the spray arm. The spray arm wasn't able to spin around, so it melted onto the heater. I removed the spray arm, and replaced it with the new one.
Electrolux part number PS1524955, lower spray arm.Problem. Dishwasher was spraying water out the bottom of the door. The spray arm was damaged when the heat shield overheated, causing the shield to contact the heating element. This resulted in the spray arm melting, causing water to be sprayed out the small gap between the dishwasher door, and the dishwasher bottom pan.RepairLower spray arm is easy to remove. Release the arm clips at the center of the spray arm. When the clips are released, lift and remove damaged arm. Replacement arm is attached by pressing down on the center of the spray arm. The new unit has smaller heat shields so it will be less prone to overheating. Thanks for the fast shipping. Part was recieved in a few days. For just a few dollars, the handwashing is over.
This was too easy. I pulled out the bottom rack, spread apart the two clips which are at the bottom of the spray arm with my fingers and pulled out the old broken spray arm. The damage was visible. Then I took the new spray arm ( which looked different but still fit nicely) and gently pushed it into place. Done!
First I removed the bottom dish rack to gain access to the spray arm. I proceeded by pulling straight up on the bottom spray arm, it disconnected with gentle force. The replacement part was not identical, so I determined that it would work by inspecting hole patterns and heat shield configuration. Then I gently pushed the new spray arm onto the water supply tube making sure that the spray arm snapped into place. Due to extremely fast ground shipping (less than 20hrs from order to my door) the repair was done within 24 hrs! Boy...was my wife pleased!
i just took off the old and poped on the new, it was way to easy! no tools required!
Although the part I ordered was not an exact match, it was a Frigidaire piece and fit onto the spray arm assembley the same way. And if I do say so, it actually seems to clean the dishes better! All I did was clip the new one into place.
Pulled the old one off and pressed the new one on (plastic clips hold it on). Dishes much cleaner now.
turned off water supply. replaced the water inlet valve. replaced the updated lower spray arm.works like new again!!
Replacing the part was easy. Just pop the old one out and pop the new one in. This item fixed my leaking door problem. The old arm had fallen against the heating element, which burned a hole through the end. Water was shooting out that hole and leaking under the bottom door seal. Replacing the door seal did not help, but replacing the arm fixed the leak.
Ordered the parts off of your catolog selections and snapped everyting into place. Thanks for making it that easy.
The drain motor on the dishwasher started to and eventually did fail. I removed the two screws holding the unit in and the front plate on the bottom. I slowly walked it out from under the counter, and tipped it up on its left side. I removed the two mounting screws, and loosened the hose clamps on the inlet and outlet of the pump. Flushed out the drain line of left over soap and goo the pump failed to clear. Then installed the new one reversing the process.
Customer Service Rep by day, Super Mom by night. I literally have 5 minutes when I get home before I have to take my son to football. I was not only able to use the bathroom but repair my dishwasher in that amount of time. It couldn't have been easier, opening the package took longer. Note: replacement arm looked slightly different than the original. All you had to do was to spread the side clips and snap into place. I had my dishwasher running as I was running out the door. Now I bet if I had a service person come to fix it, it would have cost me!
I first removed the bottom rack and took out the spray arm (which was now in two pieces) I took some steel wool and scrubbed off the melted residue from the old arm. I took the new spray arm out of the plastic and clipped it into the bottom of the dishwasher. It spun around great and so I put the bottom rack back in and told my wife to try to run a load of dishes throu. It ran great, dishes got clean...easy fx!
Thought the problem was a faulty door gasket (there was a gap in the middle of it) so I ordered new(new one had a gap also) replaced it anyway - maybe it was worn out? Still leaked! Had to sit and stare at it and cycle it through. finally realized the spray arm had a hole in the end that was spraying directly into the gap in the door gasket. Hot glued the hole and it stopped so I bought a new spray arm - no leaky!
