Agitator wouldn't spin on washing cycle
I took the plastic agitator out and checked the agitator coupling underneath. I unscrewed the agitator coupling and looked inside. It appeared that the grooves on the agitator coupling which attaches to the stem had become stripped. I ordered the $6.00 agitator coupling and screwed it back onto the stem. The plastic agitator slipped back onto the coupler and it worked perfectly after that.

Would spin but not agitate
I'm happy I looked at the motor spline while it was running and found it was not slipping. Thanks to GE having a parts list in the compartment behind the controls. I found the part name and number. A quick search of the part number came up with your web site. I payed less for the parts and shipping than driving around town would have cost in gas, much less my time. Thank you

Agitator coupling stripped out, machine wouldnt agitate
PLACED HANDS FIEMLY ON AGITATOR, AT BOTTOM, GAVE A SNUG PULL AND REMOVED IT FROM MACHINE, THUS EXPOSING THE AGITATOR COUPLING. THE COUPLING IS HELD TO MAIN SHAFT BY 1 BOLT(11 MM, I THINK). REMOVED IT, PULLED OFF STRIPPED COULPING, INSTALLED NEW, INSTALLED BOLT, LINED UP SPLINES ON AGITATOR AND SLID ON UNTILL IT "CLICKED" BACK INTO PLACE. ALL DONE.

Leaking from the tub seal- g.E. Profiler washer
WELL FINALLY AFTER BREAKING THROUGH ALL THE RUST, (12 YR. OLD WASHER), DEMOLISHING THE COUPLER AND CUTTING OFF THE HUB NUT. WE THOROUGHLY CLEANED EVERYTHING WITH SIMPLE GREEN AND A POWER WASHER. AFTER GETTING THE MACHINE ALL BACK TOGETHER AND THEN REMEMBERING WHERE THE "DOGS" WENT I AM STILL QUESTIONING WHETHER OR NOT THE HUB NUT IS TIGHT ENOUGH. NOTHING THAT WE READ ON-LINE TOLD US ANYTHING ABOUT THE TORQUE OF THE HUB NUT. WE PLUGGED EVERYTHING IN AND THERE IS STILL A SMALL LEAK COMING FROM JUST UNDER THE TUB SEAL. WE TORQUED THE HUB NUT ONE MORE TIME AND NOW THERE ARE NO LEAKS. WE DID GREASE THE SEAL. OVERALL I FIGURED OUT I SAVED OVER $ 600. I WAS AMAZED AT HOW FAST THE PARTS WERE DELIVERED FROM PART SELECT. SO THE ONLY PARTS I REPLACED WERE THE TUB SEAL, HUB NUT AND COUPLER. WE ARE EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THIS DIY REPAIR AND THE PART SELECT WEBSITE. DIY DONE BY MYSELF A 67 YEAR OLD FEMALE AND 62 YEAR OLD MALE. WE HAVE NEVER ATTEMPTED TO FIX A WASHER BEFORE.

Washer not agitating
After discovering the agitator floating in the basket and being torn apart from the spin cycle, I finally narrowed the problem down to the coupling having stripped. Removing the old coupling from the agitator itself took a pretty hefty yank and a large pliers, but after that this went pretty easily.
The bolt that holds the coupling onto the spline, as it turns out, is too short. The new part corrects this design flaw and prevents the bolt from working its way out over time. I took the liberty of applying some loctite to the threads before sliding the new coupling on--this needed a wood block and hammer to fully seat-several years worth of grime on the spindle makes for a snug fit-then installed the new bolt. Agitator snaps on top, then the cap that had been shredded when it floated around snapped in.
Hardest part was getting the failed coupling out of the agitator--design of the unit is not easy to find and thus determine which parts to pull on. Other than that, 15 minutes and this one is done.

Dasher stopped agitating clothes during wash cycle
First I removed the dasher by placing rope around the fins of the dasher. Wrapped the rope around a 2 x 4 approximately the width of the washer. Standing on the washer I pulled up on the board and presto. Up came the dasher, removed the bolt out of the bell, removed the bell. New part came in the next day after the order was placed! Great service. To install the new bell, used the new bolt sent with the part. Centered and aligned the dasher on the bell. Pushed down and locked in place. Turned on washer and started filling with water. Washed clothes within 15 minutes from start to finish.

Agitator was not moving (agitating)
I was very disappointed that this washing machine was broken since it is the second GE washer I have had in this house and the home is only 11 yrs old. I went to the Parts Select website and used the repair information to diagnose the problem and order the part. The part was about $12 including shipping and arrived in a few days. Installation was quick and easy. Overall a very good experience since I was asssuming a broken transmission and new washer. Thanks Parts Select!

Fabric softener broken/agitator had one clip broken, too
Was easy to remove the broken parts because they were loose already due to the broken finger in the agitator. It was good that I ordered the coupling kit because the bolt showed corrosion already. With the new parts I was able to see how they all clipped on together so I set myself to unbolted the coupling, install the new coupling, tighten it, alined the agitator to it, pushed into place and,... vuahla!!! fitted and worked like a charm.
