Start knob and plastic underneath broken
It was so incredibly simple! The site made it foolproof to find the right parts - and the actual replacement job itself was easier than we ever could have imagined. Background: I love to do laundry - I mean A LOT! So - I use the washer and dryer every night to wash the familie's clothing and blankets and towels. After heavy use - the outer knob stripped out. We threw it away and were using pliers to turn the small plastic knob underneath. After a few months - that plastic wore down and we could not turn it on at all!

Faulty timer
Pulled dryer out from wall, disconnected dryer power cord, removed 3 screws on back that fasten control panel, tilted panel forward, rotated faulty timer to remove it. Removed wires one at a time and connected each to new timer on same connection as on old timer.

The timer switch was so hard to turn it broke the knob.
I pulled the dryer three feet from the wall. UN-PLUGGED THE UNIT!! Removed 3 screws from the very top of the dryer, and pulled 1 wire at a time from the old switch and put it on the new one. Super easy.

Dryer would not shut off
Unplug the dryer.Pull out from wall and remove the torx bolts from the back of the control panel. You'll sort of tilt the control panel back enabling you to reach the dryer timer.Make sure you don't pop out the wires on the other switches. The start button for example(I accidentally did.)Observing the location of the wires on the timer being replaced twist and pop it out.Install the wires onto the new timer and pop it back in.I recommend doing a quick test to see if repair was successful before putting the dryer completely back together.

The dryer knob was broken
I went on line to Parts select to price the part and found it had directions to fix it also.I purchased the new timer for my dryer and since I had originally broke the knob I purchased that as well..for under $100. I received the part, took that dryer apart, replaced the broken parts and now have a working dryer. I can feel very proud of myself that I did not have the added expenses of a repair man to go with it. Thanks for your help. Barbara R.

Plastic knob attached to motor snapped off.
Ordered part from the make and model number on the inside of dryer. Unplugged and Took screws off the back panel. Unplugged all color of wires while remembering where they went. Put in new motor and put wire plugs back in place, then screwed back plate cover back in place. NOTE: It's like changing a fuse in your car. It was really easy!

The problem was a broken wire at the door switch
Take off the front panal. Cut off broken wire at the brake. Put male connector on wire. Then connect it to the terminal. Then put the front panal back on. Then test the dryer.
