Agitator was not turning during every wash
I am a woman and not very experienced with large appliance repairs. This was very simple thanks to the diagram posted and the other comments. It saved us time, repair costs and a new washer for now. The ultimate recycling :). Thank you to all who posted

Cam wouldn't come loose
The cam in the agitator of the Whirlpool Ultimate Care II (LSQ7533JQ0) was a little different than the instructions and videos I could find on the web. The difference is that the cam has tabs that keep the cam in place with the agitator. I had to try to pry the tabs loose enough so that when I stood on the agitator base and then pulled up on the part of the agitator that pulls the clothes down, only then would the cam finally pop loose. Once I was able to do that, everything was easy to replace.

Top part of agitator not working
Removed agitator cap. Barrier was stuck, so I cut it in 2 by hammering a big knife in, then removing pieces. Removed screw and ifted out agitator in one piece. Separated top and bottom by standing on bottom and pulling up on top. Put bottom back in washer. Replaced thrust washer and other parts in agitator repair kit. and reassembled everything. (Used Gunk plumbers silicone grease instead of "dual action agitator grease".) Barrier cap came with O ring seal, so did agitator kit, so I didn't need the O ring I ordered. Ended up with 2 extras.

Agitator would not agitate
I pulled the cap off the top of the agitator, then I loosened the bolt with a socket wrench (with both extensions). Then I pulled off the entire agitator. I replaced the parts, following the directions. I probably really only needed the agitator dogs, but the other parts were kind of crudded up. I put it back together, and it worked like a charm. My washing machine was actually washing clothes by itself, without assistance from me!!!

Upper agitator & cogs wore out
I pulled the cap and took a socket wrench turned the stud agit off and removed the upper agitator. Than I assembled the new agitator with the new clogs put the agaiator back on and tightened the stud agit. Replaced new cap and done! Easy job!! Everything is working like new again. This whirlpool washer is 14 years old and still going strong!

Wouldn't agitate correctly
First, know that I am the least mechanical person in the world. Second, kudos to this website. Diagnosis was perfect, and the kit worked perfectly! If I were able to do this in under a half hour... anybody will be fine. Be sure to get the grease separately... I used silicone gel because that's what I had.
Saved about $90 probably!

Ratchet assembly in upper half of agitator would not engage.
Fabric softener dispenser snaps in. Apply sideways pressure to snap out. Reach inside agitator and remove agitator cap barrier seal by pulling on tabs. Using socket with extension remove center bolt and rubber seal. Remove upper agitator assembly. Follow instructions provided in agitator repair kit to replace and re-install ratchet ratchet dogs and carrier. Reassemble in reverse of disassembly. Note: Apply a small amount of liquid dish washing detergent to agitator barrier cap seal to ease in re-installation.
