The top portion of the agitator stopped working
First I watched the online video to be sure of the parts I would need and for any tips that might make the repair easier.(The video suggested replacing the bolt, and it looked to me to be a good idea to replace the seal). I removed the softener dispenser (which exposed the inner cap). Then I removed the inner cap (which exposed the agitator bolt). I removed the bolt and lifted out the agitator. Popped the top portion off, replaced the directional cogs and then put it all back together. I am a fairly handy person but appliances are not my thing. The video gave me all the assurance I needed. Fifteen minutes and $15; sure beats calling a repairman!

Agitator was not turning during every wash
I am a woman and not very experienced with large appliance repairs. This was very simple thanks to the diagram posted and the other comments. It saved us time, repair costs and a new washer for now. The ultimate recycling :). Thank you to all who posted

Agitator didn't work
I over ordered parts because this website doesn't list everything in the agitator repair kit... so I over spent about $10... so be careful of misleading parts list when ordering a "kit"... all the parts should be there. All I had to do was pop the top off, pull the cap out, unbolt the agitator and remove it... then put together the new dogs and rotator... ofcourse the kit cap with a new bearing (which wasn't listed on the included parts, so I have a spare for 15 years down the road) Then I lined up the holes, installed a new gasket on the bolt, and bolted it back together.... I also learned that I didn't even need the kit, I only needed new dogs! (that's the part that locks into the teeth on the agitator and caused it to spin and push the cloths down)... could have saved probably $20, but I fixed my washer myself and even though it cost me nearly $40 in parts and I'm sure I saved atleast $100 doing it myself... this site is very easy to navigate and find the parts... I will always come back to this site for parts!

Top part of agitator not working
Removed agitator cap. Barrier was stuck, so I cut it in 2 by hammering a big knife in, then removing pieces. Removed screw and ifted out agitator in one piece. Separated top and bottom by standing on bottom and pulling up on top. Put bottom back in washer. Replaced thrust washer and other parts in agitator repair kit. and reassembled everything. (Used Gunk plumbers silicone grease instead of "dual action agitator grease".) Barrier cap came with O ring seal, so did agitator kit, so I didn't need the O ring I ordered. Ended up with 2 extras.

Upper agitator was'nt turning--clothes werent getting clean
Thanks to the exploded parts diagram online, I was easily able to determine the sequence of how the parts went together. The whole thing was very simple, turned out, all I really needed was the "dogs", and the seal, but it was a breese. I have never really been a gearhead, but I do work construction, this was soo easy, even my brother in law could have done this. I have to believe that a service call to fix this would have been $100-$200 dollars, this cost me less than $30
