Question:

When I’m using my washer it is no longer spinning but it is making sounds like it is, and it is still draining normally, what should I do?

Hello Maddie, we recommend that you inspect the motor coupling first. If the motor coupling is faulty, the tub will not spin properly. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Question:

My washing machine is acting up and i think it could be the motor coupling or the agitator but would like to confirm. It is spinning during the wash cycle but during the spin cycle it isnt. The basket is spinning good but I think the agitator stopped spinning. Also not sure if it is relevant but the washer seems to be draining normally.

Ronnie
Answer:

Hi Ronnie, unfortunately it sounds like the transmission is bad and needs replacing. This is the transmission you would need for your model 3360629, best of luck with this repair.

Question:

The basket and the agitator were not working and I diagnosed that I needed to replace the motor coupling. That was a while ago. Now it stopped spinning and the motor coupling seems to still be in good condition, what else should I be looking for?

Cleve
Answer:

Hi Cleve, it sounds like you may have a problem with your lid switch. Try closing the lid of your washer, if you hear a clicking sound that is a good indicator that it is working. If you do not hear a clicking sound you most likely need to replace the lid switch. We also recommend checking the lid switch wiring harness connection, as it might have come loose during your motor coupling repair. I hope this helps.

Once water filled up it would kick off and no action from the agitator..just a buzzing sound..

Following the instructions from the email received from this site was very helpful...given the washers were slightly different then mine in the videos ...it gave me a solid view point of what I would expect...my thrust spacer and the one I was sent was different in length and luckily it wasn't needed for my repair..extremely affordable prices made this no big deal at all..The inner seal was easily exchanged out and the agitator direction cogs were simply replaced..they were a bit wore down but nothing broke...and the reassemble was easy...biggest trouble I had were the clamps holding the switch box on the top they were pretty simple to remove by the instruction video and the direct drive coupler was exactly like the video instructed and was simply replaced..again nothing broke but extreme wear on the inner square was nearly wore to more of a circle shape which I believe was my problem. .The clamps holding the top back in place we're very tricky for me but I got them...plugged everything back up turned it on and the washer filled up and then kicked back into action just like new...I was very happy as well as was my wife to fixed what normally would have been 400 to 500$ repair bill or twice that for a new washer for 4 parts under 30$ and it's now just like new..Thank you !! I will definitely be ordering again from you if and when needed and also give a 100% satisfaction rating to any 1 needing parts..5stars!!!

Tub moves like it isnot supposed to , parts of the motor coupling were on the floor so I need to replace them ,and while I have it that far apart I changed the clutch.

Each part has a very good video about the procedure to fix the problem , just follow it and you will be good .

Spin cycle would engauge for brief moments, continued to spin very slowly and loud ratcheting noise causing me to turn it off.

I installed both a new clutch and direct drive assembly, put it all back together, turned it on and had the same initial problem. I purchased and installed a new gearcase (transmission) and it runs like a new machine. I also purchased a spanner wrench made by Supco, but never had to use it. Will save it for future repairs. There is no greater satisfaction or glory than fixing something yourself! A lot cheaper too!!!

Motor coupling broken

Watch the video as provided bythis site! Really, I could have fumbled through it myself and likely would have eventually gotten it. However, after figuring out what roughly might be the problem by turning the washer over and looking at the broken coupling -watching the video defined a completely different, and much shorter repair than I likely would have put myself through. -Additions to the video are the use of a rust penetrant like liquid wrench on the coupling, a lot more prying to get the coupling off the motor shaft, and a folded up towel to absorb water when you lay the washer on it's back. For me this was a good time to clean inside the tops of the washer basket, and the surrounding tub with a longer bottle brush and some other stuff that fit the limited space. If you disconnect the drain connection from the pump at the bottom, and turn the washer upright over a floor drain, you can rinse/scrub the space all you want. If hadn't watched a different related video, I probably would have attempted to remove the tub, but you need a tool that I don't have. -big time saver!

The machine stopped agitating and spinning

The shredded rubber under the machine pointed to a drive coupling failure. Unscrew the control panel and type it back. Undo the body clips on either side and tip forward and remove the body..... At least on this model. Lay the machine on it's back and remove two motor clips. Uncouple one hose so that the motor can be removed. This exposes the broken drive coupling. Remove it's remains from the motor shaft and the transmission shaft. Install the new one and reverse the steps. NO BIG DEAL. Up and running in less than one hour. Total fix cost $18.....I'll take that any day.

Spin cycle stalled

I used the installation video to see how to complete the repair. It was an easy repair with the use of the video. This was the first time that I ever got and installation video, on line, with the purchase of a repair part. This site is a great parts company and I will use them every opportunity that I can

Washer stopped spin dry or agitation.

Watched Youtube video, was similar except screws for topside control panel were in rear. Disasemble was simple and fast. Reassemble was a little tricky as I could only get one clip back on the motor and then the other was not reaching. I had my daughter tilt the washer back so the motor wasn't hanging down and it went together. Washer now runs like new, nice to know that I only had to pay for the part and saved myself $100 bucks! Thanks!

Washer would not agitate or spin dry.

Removed the screws under the trim on either side of the control console then rolling the console back was able to remove front of washer. Laid washer on back and was able to get to motor pump and coupling. U Tube has very good video on how to.
