Switch panel
Every thing was fine, but it appears to be made of plastic and I doubt it will last longer.

Easy fix but there is a design fault
Replacing the part was relatively straightforward but the fact that the control unit was made out of molded plastic is a design flaw which is likely to result in regular failure of this unit because of the regular stresses imposed by the operation of the switches housed in the unit. The unit should be made out of metal, not molded plastic.

Control panel broken
Amazing. PartSelect shipped me the wrong part and then wouldn't refund shipping cost to return it. They need to change their shipping policy as it now states they refund shipping if they were the cause of the mistake.

SWITCH CONTROL UNIT HAD BROKEN OFF FROM ONE END OF ITS INTERIOR MOUNTING
Removed and cleaned to overhead grease trap filters which required a sink full of detergent some wire wool pads and and much elbow grease. This is probably a service task that should be performed at least annually for hoods in frequent use. And be careful not to cut your fingers on some of the sharp interior edges.

Refitting was the reverse of the above process.
