Behind, I observed that the gears on the pulley is having trouble engaging the shifter hub when starting to spin. It makes a loud grinding sound and after a few attempts it will finally engage and spin as normal. What could be causing this? Thanks for your help.

Hello Dave, thank you for contacting us. It looks like the teeth of your shifter hub, part number PS12723079, which connect to the transmission pulley have worn out. It results in a grinding sound as it is difficult for the transmission pulley to hold together with the shifter hub. The shifter hub connects above the transmission pulley to hold the transmission during the agitation mode, and the transmission pulley connects to the gear case shaft to agitate and spin the washer.
