My KitchenAid microwave/oven combination makes a annoying noise when we use the oven. It sounds like it is coming from the upper blower assembly (kitchenmaid part number 4450920). Since it is difficult to definitely determine whether the noise is coming from the upper or lower blower assemblies, i need some help diagnosing the real problem. When the over is on, most, if not all of the air is coming from the vent opening between the microwave unit and the lower oven, hence my conclusion has been to assume that the upper assembly needs replacing. Since it is a big deal to remove the combination appliance (210 lbs) from the cabinet in order to access the back of the appliance, i would like to verify that i am getting the correct part(s) before i undertake this project. I am a bit of a diy person and i have the detailed repair manual, which provides step by step instructions, so i am comfortable that i can make the repair with some help from a neighbor due to the weight of the unit. If you can advise as to the accuracy of my diagnosis, i would really appreciate it.

Thank you for your reply to my fist question. You have said that the problem is with the upper blower unit. How do i know that isn't coming from the lower blower unit, or from both?

Hi Alan,
Thank you for your inquiry. To verify if the issue is with either the lower or upper blower unit you will need to check both with a multimeter. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
