How to replace the pump?
For model number MVW8850YG1
Good Day Mike. Thank you for your question in regards to your unit (Model Number MVW8850YG1). Based on our research, we have found the following information that should assist you with your repair: 1) Before you begin to replace the drain pump in your washer be sure to unplug the power cord and shut off the water supply. 2) Remove the hot and cold water supply lines from the inlet valve. 3) Be prepared for some water to spill out. 4) Release the retaining clamp and detach the drain hose from the outlet hose mounting flange. 5) Now use tape to secure the washer lid. 6) Carefully tip the washer back so it rests on its rear panel. 7) Release the drain pump wire cover. 8) Disconnect the wire connector and unhook the wire from the retaining clip 9) Release the spring clamp securing the hose to the pump and pull off the hose. 10) Use a 5/16 inch socket or nut driver to unthread the drain pump mounting screws. 11) With the screws unthreaded remove the old pump install the new drain pump by positioning it on the tub then thread the screws to secure. 12) Attach the hose to the pump and secure it with the clamp. 13) Connect the wire connector secure the wire under the retaining clip and close the cover. 14) Return the appliance to its upright position. 15) Remove the tape securing the lid attach the drain hose to the outlet hose and secure it with the clamp. 16) Reattach the hot and cold water supply lines with the repair completed. 17) Turn the water supply back on plug the power cord back in and your washer should be ready for use. We also recommend referring to the Owner's Manual of your unit for further information. We hope this helps! Best Regards.
