How do I check the spark module? Using a vom or just visually? What reading should i get, volts or ohms? Could there be an open in the bake igniter circuit?
For model number wfg371lvq0
PartSelect logo
Hi John, Thank you for the question. You can test it with a Multi Meter, If you read 120Vac at terminal J1-6, the spark module has failed. If there is no voltage at this terminal, the issue will be the control board. Hope this helps!

Oven turns on initially to bake on the desired temperature, but after a half hour it turns down to 150 degrees. We turn off the oven and let it cool down, then turn it on again and it will back again for only a half hour. What parts do I need to purchase? Thanks
For model number WFG510S0AS1
PartSelect logo
Hi Caesar, Thank you for your question. If the oven is not heating correctly, then the issue is likely with the oven sensor, sometimes called the oven thermostat, and you will need to check it with a multimeter. When testing the sensor with a multimeter, the sensor should be tested at room temperature. You will need to measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. Replace the oven sensor if the reading is less than 900 Ohms or more than 1200 Ohms. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Two weeks ago i replaced the bake igniter, which i purchased from partselect. Sometimes the oven would not ignite or heat up. Other times it worked fine. It was very sporadic. So i replaced the bake igniter. Again, i am having the same problems so i assume it is something else causing the problem. No issues with the stovetop burners, just the oven. Please give me your thoughts.

Hi Elizabeth, thank you for your question. There are a few parts that could cause this issue in your appliance. First I would say test your igniters with a multi meter to see if they are working correctly or not. They should be reading between 0 - 1100 ohms to be working correctly. The other part you should check would be your oven temperature sensor. That can also be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 1000 - 1100 ohms. If those three parts are fine however, then the issue may be in your control board or the spark module. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My KitchenAid will not spark or lite the cook top or gas burners inside stove. I am trying to repair it myself. What part would cause this issue?
For model number Kgsk901sss00

Hello Harry, thank you for your question. The most likely issue is the Spark Module WPW10331686 . You can test it with a Multi Meter, If you read 120Vac at terminal J1-6, the spark module has failed. If there is no voltage at this terminal, the issue will be the Control, Interface part number WP9762793. I Hope this helps!

Good morning, I'm trying to repair my gas range myself to save money. I am pretty handy doing repairs myself along with being an it computer service tech currently for 40 years, I have 2 issues which are both intermittent, first the left front burner will not always spark. When its doesn't spark i can light with a lighter and the burner will light. I have swapped the spark igniter from another burner and no change so i know it is not the igniter, what is next? The second issue is that oven will not always light and sometimes when it does light and heat it will stop heating after it is on for awhile? one thing i noticed is that normally when it lights you hear "click" just a second before it lights, when it doesn't light there is no "click"? any help on what parts or more troubleshooting would be helpful. this gas range was purchased in 2000-2001

Hi Derrol, Thank you for your question. If the left front burner is not coming on, then the issue is likely either a switch on the wiring switch harness or the spark module and you will need to check the parts to see which one is causing the issue. If the oven is not lighting, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which ones are causing the issue. You will need to check the broil igniter, the bake burner with spark igniter, the gas valve and the spark module. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Was cleaning range, this part got wet, no spark after that? Hoping that this part will fix the problem? Will be more careful in the future thank you eric.

Hi Eric, Thank you for your inquiry. I think that with your situation, replacing this part should fix your problem. It is an electronic board so if water gets on it at all it could fry some of the components. Good luck with your repair.

Every thing on this oven/stove works fine except the stove ignitor, it clicks when you go to light the stove top but no spark comes from sparkers. We have to light it manually. Any input would be helpful. Thank you

The oven portion ignites and heats, but none of the burners do. I can manually light them with a match. When the dials are turned to 'light' I hear a faint clicking from the back of the oven, but no spark at the burners. Is it going to be the spark module?
For model number kgss907sbl01

Hello Dave, thank you for your question. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend you first check your surface burner igniter, part number PS11748327. If the igniter is fine, then you need to check the spark module, part number PS11753037. We hope that helps!

Will this stop beeping?
For model number WFG540H0AS0

Hi Gary, thank you for your question. If your spark module is clicking constantly then you may have to test it with a multi meter to determine if it is still functioning or not. If it is not then you may have to replace the part. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
