I ordered and received door seal w10139457. It is not a solid band but cut so that it is a long strip. Is this correct? Thanks for your help.

I am getting fogging between plates of glass on door- i am assuming i need new door seal. Correct?

Is the door seal wpw10139457 an intact band to be fitted around the or is it cut to be installed as a strip in the slots?

I purchased this door seal for a Maytag 5000 Series Dryer with steam, Model MGDE500VW2. The door the seal is applied to, has slots for the seal to be plugged into. My question is, do I still need some type of sealant to when installing the seal.
