I over ordered parts because this website doesn't list everything in the agitator repair kit... so I over spent about $10... so be careful of misleading parts list when ordering a "kit"... all the parts should be there. All I had to do was pop the top off, pull the cap out, unbolt the agitator and remove it... then put together the new dogs and rotator... ofcourse the kit cap with a new bearing (which wasn't listed on the included parts, so I have a spare for 15 years down the road) Then I lined up the holes, installed a new gasket on the bolt, and bolted it back together.... I also learned that I didn't even need the kit, I only needed new dogs! (that's the part that locks into the teeth on the agitator and caused it to spin and push the cloths down)... could have saved probably $20, but I fixed my washer myself and even though it cost me nearly $40 in parts and I'm sure I saved atleast $100 doing it myself... this site is very easy to navigate and find the parts... I will always come back to this site for parts!

popped off the the cap on top of agitator and then lossened nut with socket and exstenion and took off top half of agitator the replaced plastic gogs
Thanks to the exploded parts diagram online, I was easily able to determine the sequence of how the parts went together. The whole thing was very simple, turned out, all I really needed was the "dogs", and the seal, but it was a breese. I have never really been a gearhead, but I do work construction, this was soo easy, even my brother in law could have done this. I have to believe that a service call to fix this would have been $100-$200 dollars, this cost me less than $30
The agitator was not turning the clothes so I bougth the agitator kit and was an easy fix. Took me about ten minutes to installed. What was best was the price, under fiftheen dollars. With the economy this bad fitheen dollars was cheaper than buying a new one.
Followed the "pictures" and was easy enough.
removed cap on top of agitator, removed inner capwith pliers-it has a large o-ring, removed bolt that holds agitator onto drive assembly with a 1/2 "socket ,extension and rachet. removed old partsand installed new ones. install a new rubber washer with bolt and a new o-ring with inner cap.place cap on top of agitator and your done
Dispenser is a snap on. type Very easy to complete.
Removed agitator cap. Barrier was stuck, so I cut it in 2 by hammering a big knife in, then removing pieces. Removed screw and ifted out agitator in one piece. Separated top and bottom by standing on bottom and pulling up on top. Put bottom back in washer. Replaced thrust washer and other parts in agitator repair kit. and reassembled everything. (Used Gunk plumbers silicone grease instead of "dual action agitator grease".) Barrier cap came with O ring seal, so did agitator kit, so I didn't need the O ring I ordered. Ended up with 2 extras.
pulled the softner dispenser, removed the o-ring seal cap, pulled removed the assembly bolt, removed the agitator rotator assembly, replaced worn componants with new while reversing the process.
Diagnosing the problem took a couple of hours, because the fabric softener dispenser was so full; I tried to pry it apart but to do that I had to destroy it!:-) While I was cleaning the place for the dispenser I decided to take off the cover, clean out everything - then ordered the parts. Once the parts arrived I watched the video for assembly ... and the rest was easy.
Repair was very easy for me and I have three fingers missing on one of my hands. Video on repair was also very detailed. I ordered three extra parts that were already included in the agitator kit. Would have been nice if all parts were listed that came in the kit and add a small tube of the grease. Delivery time was great! I would order from this company again, I was very pleased. I have already referred a friend to the site for her repairs.
Turns out the agitator directional cogs were really worn and chipped so they werent allowing it to rotate therefore my clothes were not comming out clean. Also upon taking apart the agitator i saw that the fabric softener dispenser was VERY clogged with gunk! I had bought this appliance used so i really had no idea. So first i removed the fabric softener dispenser, then the cap then i loosened the 7/16th bolt to release the top 1/2 of the agitator and then took the dogs (or cogs as other people call them) out and replaced them, then did the steps in reverse to put it back together. Before i put it together i had to really clean all the gunky build up.Works like a charm!
took off back and sides to the washer. laid the washer on it's back and removed worn and broken parts. replaced these parts and put everything back together. The top part of the agitator hasn't worked in a while, while we had it apart we also replaced the clogs. The washer works better than it has in a long time. Spins a lot more water from the clothes which makes drying faster. I would surely do this again. A lot cheaper than a new washer.
