This part fixes the following symptoms:
I removed the ice tray and removed the front plastic cover that simply snapped off. I removed 4 hex screws with 1/4" nut driver. Then pulled the auger forward. This allowed me to slide the end cap into place. I put the auger in place and retightened the 4 hex screws, snapped on the plastic cover it worked fine

Removed 6 screws total and removed the entire Auger and Ice Crusher. The broken Helix just fell off, I put the new one on after a little finagaling to get it lined up right and it just snap into place. Replace the screws, put the bucket back, dumped in the Ice and the dispenser started working Fine.
Just removed old parts and replaced with new parts
Super fast , I received my parts the very next day ,THANKS to PartSelect.com. GREAT JOB . Pulled out 4 screws , pulled out the ice turn gear & crusher , replaced the helix end cap , put all these parts back in place , screwed 4 screws back in ice bucket , back in freezer and it works like new . It would of cost me $110.00 to have a repair company do this simple job .
removed the ice maker tray and screws and that held the cover to the rotating mechanism that crushes and dispenses the ice. the end cap is then attached to the rotating mechanism and ice container, the cover is replaced;finishing the job.
