Turned 120 v breaker off at power panel, removed 8 torx head screws from door panel removed old handle and snapped in new, replaces screws, flipped breaker back on. About 10 minutes tops using a battery driver.
New handle came out of the package and was fully installed in 5 minutes. Couldn't be easier.
remove door panel screws 8 of them.door lock and switch are one unit.pull off wires in order to replace door handle.slip wires back in place and replace door panel.
First, shut off power to the dishwasher. Remove the stainless outer panel from the door to expose the latching mechanism and control board. Remove the latch mechanism from the inner door panel (if plastic pin holders are still intact) and place off to side. No need to disconnect wires. Remove the control panel by taking out hex head screws and snapping out of retainers on old control panel. Again, no need to disconnect wires; let the board hang out of the way. Remove old control panel by removing hex head screws. Replace with new control panel. Snap control board back into place and secure with hex head screws. Be sure it is seated properly. In my case the door latch handle was also broken. Simply snap new one back into latch mechanism. Replace outer stainless door panel with torx screws and you are done.
Unplugged dishwasher. Removed 6 screws holding the two panels of the door together. Then the handle was easy to insert, replaced the screws. The best part was downloading the dishwasher lasagna recipe. I will use it for upcoming event for 120 people.Oh too late for April Fools.
We removed ten screws holding the inside panel of the door in place, and simply removed the old broken handle, and replaced it. We then replaced the screws and we were done. 5 minutes tops. VERY, VERY easy. (Note, it is not a regular or Phillips-head screwdriver, but a more specialized one.)
1 Disconnect power: I did not at first and got a little poke. 2 remove inner door panel3 pull out switch and old handel. 4 snap in new handel, and reassemble.
