Oven wouldn't light
Replaced the oven igniter. The most difficult part for me was getting the stove out to gain access to the back. Used sheet metal to guide the rear legs up onto the tile. Used string to guide the wiring to the rear connectors. The rest was easy and it worked.

no heat in oven, broiler did work ,that shows gas valve functioning correctly
I removed bottom drawer of the kitchen aid oven.I could see the gas valve.I opened the door of the oven and removed plate on bottom of the oven .there was no screws holding it down ,I removed a couple of screw for the burner and took out 2 screws for the heating element . In the back of the oven .there is 2 wires .one goes to the gas valve located behind the bottom draw.you know can see it from the front with the draw removed, than move the oven out and take the 4 screws holding the back plate .you will see the other wire the element plugs into .you unplug 2 wires and a few screws and you are done.you save alot of money and since this happens alot .you can compare this to changinging a light bulb.It needs maintence from time to time.

Oven never heated hot enough to bake or roast!!
My son had first removed the 2 screws to disconnect the damaged element. He then removed the element
by pulling it out and disconnected the wires.

I was si grateful when he was able to connect the new igniter so we could have cookies for Christmas...thank you for your very prompt delivery of the element and the ease to reconnect it.

KitchenAid stove bake and broil don't work. Neither igniter heats up. The stove top burners do work. I suspect the gas control valve and not the two igniters. The bake igniter element looks fine.

Experiencing igniting delays with the baking burner of the oven. Up to 4 minutes before the gas is released to ignite. Igniter starts coming on within a few seconds of starting the oven. Top broiler with a separate igniter, when that is started the burner ignites within 45 seconds. What may be the problem?

Hello Dennis, Thank you for your inquiry. It could be the bake igniter or the safety valve and pressure regulator, which makes sure that no gas is released until the igniter gets enough power to ignite the gas range. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, we have videos available to assist you. The igniter should be reading between 0 - 1100 ohms to be working correctly. Good luck with your repair.
